Description An Old Man by a seashore, at the End of Day,
Gazes the horizon with seawinds in his face.
Tempest-tossed Island, seasons all the same.
Anchorage unpainted and a Ship without a name

Sea without a shore for the banished one unheard.
He lightens the Beacon, light at the End of World.
Showing the way lighting hope in their hearts.
The ones on their travels Homeward from Afar...

This is for long-forgotten Light at the End of the World.
Horizon crying...The tears he left behind long ago...

The Albatross is flying, making him daydream.
The Time before he became one of the world's Unseen
Princess in the Tower, Children in the Fields
Life gave him it all: an Island of the Universe...

Now his love's a memory, a ghost in the fog....
He sets the sails one last time, saying farewell to the world.
Anchor to the water, seabed far below.
Grass still in his feet, and a smile beneath his brow.

This is for long-forgotten, Light at the End of the World
Horizon crying...The tears he left behind so long ago...

...So long ago...

Years from now, or perhaps a glimpse into a powerful dream, Marelo stands on a barren and craggy shore, watched over by a crumbling, forgotten old lighthouse projecting its mournful beacon out to sea. He stares out in sadness at the horizon line, thinking of the loved ones in his life who left him behind long, long ago...

Inspired by 's Southwinds.

This is a collaboration effort between me and . I conceptualized and drew the scene, and he colored it in using, believe it or not, Microsoft Paint, so ALL credit for the coloring goes solely and directly to him. The original concept lineart that I sketched can be viewed here. [link]

Oh, and neither me or Alex know whether there are lighthouses remaining on Avea, let alone what they look like, so I extrapolated. It is more for symbolism than anything practical as it stands. Also, it is still lit because we are assuming that they do what we do, putting an automated self-sustaining modern beacon in the top of an old structure, should sea navigation lamps still be needed. However, upon conversations with corrvo, it would seem that all navigation is done via GPS and the like, and physical beacons are no longer needed.

To this day it still amazes me just what a man can do with SM paint and is with out a shadow of a doubt the Master of Microsoft Paint among other things as well

Very good drawing considering that you used MS Paint.

Also nice choice of music. (Nightwish - The Islander)

You can thank my good friend Alex for the MS Paint coloring job. I merely drew the lineart. One day I hope to get to his level of paintwork.

Oh yes, perfect song from an excellent band.

That it was, and I VERY much agree. Alex is a veritable virtuoso when it comes to drawing and coloring in Paint, and he did a damn fine job here.
