This is the second of your bird shots that I've seen that has this wonderful light effect. Β I can't articulate exactly what it is, but the color of the lake against the green leaves and the tones in the bird's feathers all work to make an image that is wonderfully soothing and peaceful to me.

The conditions were nice that day--a hazy overcast sky. Β I think I circled through the refuge three times I was so enthralled with the photo ops. Β It's a wonderful place to see birds of all kinds and even the gators were out posing.
