I like this man. This pic has got a great sense of depth. With the planets lit like this, I would say there has to be a pretty bright ligtsource in there, which obviously isn't there. A bit more contrast and bright parts are things I would like to see. Nevertheless this is great work, I'm just trying to give some crits. Nice one!

Very cool piece, and awesome nebula texture. The planet, for a brushed planet, looks pretty good, too. The only thing I can point out that needs changed, and it's a VERY small detail, are the larger stars with the x and + things coming out from them... they're good, but they're all at the same angle. For a more random look, all you gotta do is rotate them just a tad each.

Good work. I love the colors

I wish I could leave a superb comment. But I can't seem to find why I like this so much. Just the style (which I can't explain) and the softly-cool colors really draw me to it.

I must say im glad you are doing space art. It is what you do best and this piece shows that.

Im loving the starfield as always, eversince Planetary Ambience your starfields have only improved.

The nebula itself is again a wonderfull example of good brushing. I already can feel the distance between the far end of the nebula and the planet. Though there is one thing that you could have done to give the nebula even more depth that is there seems to be a texture over it that follows a straight line towards the inner part of the nebula (I hope you see what I mean) if that texture would have followed a curved line almost spiral wise the nebula would have been even better because the depth feeling would have increased.

The planets really follow the overall style that you have put down with this piece though I dont know if they would have been better if the atmo of them wouldnt have been smudged.

Overall an awesome piece, keep up the good work

You certainly are an observant one to pick that texture out of all the ones I used. Either that, or you have an excessively bright monitor. Great point.

Thank you for your comment.

Nice man, first of all, i love the the compositional sense to the piece, its like staring into the void, right on the edge of it, from the planets perspective. Further emphasised by the scaling; well worked, how the nebulae grows closer to view, that certainly adds to the depth. & in co operation with the composition i love the colouring, it adds to that whole void, lonely sensation, as summed up by the title, a sense of being lost perhaps. It isnt a requirement, but a little bit of a faint reflection of the crimson nebulae would have been a nice addition on the planets.

Ive always been a fan of your starfields, sheer perfection; so much variation mixed into a seemingly balanced array of stars. Not over done, not under done, a great balance, really compliments all of your scenes. One thing is i wonder if you could have some how got some colour variation in this piece? I wouldnt call it an easy thing to fit such a task in, but i wonder if it would have complimented the scene nicely. Just an idea.

Its splendid to see you mixing your painterly nebulae style with some intense texturing; I would say this is one of the best ways to go in nebulae creation, a detailed, brushed base can be emphasised even more so by some great texturing, together they make the perfect mix. I'm also liking how you are brushing your planets, however, i would say this time around its slightly smudged looking; May be a gas giant & that is fine, but even so it has that mottled, smudged feeling, maybe it was what you where after, just personally i think it looks even greater if its refined a bit more.

Overall, superb in the highly detailed, starry, splendid style of Max, everlasting indeed. Lol. Nice work, & the typography is sexy.

Yet another superb comment from Kyle. Gotta love it.

What I find amazing is the way in which you manage to compliment me so much but also make me feel foolish for the mistakes I've made in this piece. Of course it makes sense to have differrent coloured stars; it'd make the piece more interesting. The other colours in the nebulae should affect the colouring of the planet - unless of course it's being affected only by a much closer bright blue star that is not depicted in the scope of this scene.

One thing that you did pick out that was actually intentional was the style of the gas giant; it was actually a suggestion of one of my non-dA friends to stylize the planet in a more painterly manner, to make it more in tone with the rest of the scene.

I'll definetely take your comments into account (as usual!) when I am creating my next piece. Your preview image also inspired me... hmm... something do do with light.

Thanks very much dude.

It was my pleasure Max, i'm glad you enjoyed my comment, & found some helpful tips as well.

Mmmm.. I love to work with light.

In fact, it seems my work style relies heavily on light, without light my pieces are void of detail & splendour.
