I've been a fan of Junko Mizuno's work and style for a while now and I thought it would be perfect for a vector piece, so here it is. It took a while because I was picky about the colours and composition. The title is a Pillows song.XO.

Junko Mizuno freaks me out, now that I know who he is and.. recognized.. the style/name. I feel so.. dirty.. looking at his work. Like that Maclean's magazine article about dressing our daughters like hookers. I guess that's probably part of his reasoning for.. doing what he does.

Haha, Junko Mizuno creeps you out? (She's female, by the the way) but her "kawaii-noir" is wayyyy more innocent than that of the patriarch of the style, Trevor Brown. You should check out his stuff and see how dirty you feel. He's from the UK but he pretty much exiled himself to Japan, because nowhere else could handle his level of creepiness.

i totally recognize the name of junko mizuno's name, and i should, especially because i was one of the major volunteers for our lethbridge anime con (we called it Nishikaze [west wind, as it were] for reasons as yet undiscovered)... but anyways, could tell me where i recognize the name from, mate?
and btw, even though junko mizuno, it's very good piece mate, i must say, that the little dragon turned out well, and the girl turned out even better, but what really got me what the composition for some reason, that i still can't fathom... so bear with me... maybe it was just the mario-esque clouds...

Junko Mizuno does really bizarre, almost psychedelic character designs and scenes. She's published quite a few manga and some illustration books. And hey, just Google the name to find lots of sites. I'm glad you liked the composition, that was the only thing I came up with on my own, haha.

This is so cute! Very nice job, it looks straight out of a crazy Japanese anime because of the cleanness! Very professional looking.
