August 2012Tameere was always more of a 'background character' in our D&D game since the early 90s, she's one of the children of Alyeena Dragonwrite. (Tameere is a polymorphed, adult steel dragon.)
Where most steel dragons have a love for art and knowledge Tameere took after her father and has a love for tinkering, mechanics and clockwork. She was sometimes described in big, noble dresses (very Renaissance or Victorian style) with goggles, large gloves, clockwork items and such. (Heh, I was doing steampunk before it was cool. ^_^ )
I wanted to make an artificer on DDO and had trouble thinking of a character I already had that would fit into that class until I remembered Tameere. Oddly I've roleplayed her more in DDO then I ever did in our home game. lol
The iron defender dog is named Toy, and her miniature steel golem is Wind-Up.

^_^ Well Toy and Wind-Up are based after the iron defender and mini iron golem from DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online). I did customize and personalize them up a bit though.

There's always been hints of steampunk around before it became popular, such as weird west stories and such. I've always had a strange fondness for those things and loved playing Victorian/Western characters with futuristic machines. I think it was Back to the Future III that really made me adore it.

Yeah, I think I might have noticed some stuff when I was younger. To be fair there are only so many ideas around so I think in a way going 'Victorian era+ Technology' isn't that big of a step in a way, it's like Sci-Fi a lot of stuff from science fiction is actually coming into existance. O.o
I'll have to check out Back to the Future III, I've only watched bits of the first film, and I think I might have seen a bit of the third one. (Seems weird I haven't seen them in their entirety, my older brother is a big fan of them)

Oh, the picture is still new, I just drew it. The character was more described in the past in a victorian-lady with goggles/gloves/clockwork-wonders sort of way. I've never even drawn her before now though. lol
