Well, I figured since I've done images of both Raphael and Gabriel, it was only fitting to draw one of Saint Michael.(Now, I know that "Michael's" name is usually pronounced "Mike-all", but Saint Michael's is actually supposed to be pronounced "Mic-ae-yell". Neat, huh?)
So, I drew the classic scene from the Book of Genesis, when Saint Michael kicks Satan and the other devils out of Heaven.
What was cool and a tad ironic was, I believe, Lucifer (Satan's original name) was a higher rank of angel than Michael. But after he betrayed God, Michael was the one who cast him down into Hell. (How's that for an ego smashing?

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host β
by the Power of God β
cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

in my native language, bible characters are almost always referred to by their original pronunciations; for example, michael is pronounced mikh-a-yel('e' as in 'wait').

You are correct. Michael is an Archangel and according to many accounts, Lucifer was a Sereph (highest order of Angel)

I'm pretty sure Lucifer was one of, if not the, highest angels in Heaven before he went on his βego tripβ.
Really nice art. The use of the one color for each is very fitting (well the classic devil is always all red, but it's neat how you made Michael all gold vs. that traditional βCaucasian angelβ look).
Hey, isn't Michael's eye red and Satan's gold? Like they're reflecting each other... Nice detail if I'm correct and it's not just my screen/eyes being weird.

Actually, Michael's eye looked purple when I colored it, but I added a soft layer of red over the whole image to make it more bold, and it turned red. So, that thing about the eyes was unintentional, but it's cool that you noticed it.

Anyway, from the three archangels you draw, this is the one I like the least; maybe itβs because Iβm a great admirer of Mikael and that makes me quite exigent βsay ticklish- with his portraits.
Satan face itβs absolutely priceless here, so full of rage.
Also, itβs more than great to see an English speaker that translates his name properly. Iβm more than tired to read it translates as βthe one who is like Godβ which is SO not the right translation.
As a side comment, so you can ignore it if you like, Iβd point out a little thing from your description. Although thereβs a tendency (and a tradition of it) to assume Lucifer to Satan, from the (catholic) angelic studies that Iβve read so far, seems more likely that Lucifer and Satan are different entities.

Well, Lucifer turned into Satan, and you are right in the sense that he became an entirely different being. However, he is the same, because one of the other archangels, Uriel, took his place.
