Description For Alexei's (=Nameless-Designer ) contest.

Finally had a smidge of an idea, so I ran with it. Maybe this is the end of the inspiration block for me

Anyways, the idea is that this planet is being slowly ripped apart by a massive solar flare/ wind. If this has ever happened, this is what I would picture it to look like.

It needs work, I know. Wil edit it when I find the time. Anyways, in the meantime, would like to hear your feedback on this one.

EDIT

Worked on it a little, knew I would anyways. Edits:

-Brightened the rays in front of the planet
-Changed the title... i like the yellow with the blue better.
-Rotated the entire canvas 90 degrees
-Added a third ravage.

Anyways, I like this version better because it actually looks more powerful with the rays coming from the side rather than the top.

Also, added shadows on the planet from the new ravage's dust cloud.

Enjoy the new version!

Thanks,

nice idea and all but the planet looks really flat to me.. if you would have curved the waves of dust that is being ripped of the planet more into the round shape it would add more depth.. now it just looks flat.. but nice colors and cool idea!

Yea, I am currently working on that. Got some help from ~Josif , so it will hopefully help to make the planet look more "lifelike".

Thanks though

This is great. I love the idea, and the areas where the planet is crumbling are very cool. My only suggestion would be to put a bit more detail into the background, and possibly on the planet itself (although I could certainly see why there isn't). Great job.

It's good, though the ravage on the left edge should be fully, not just a part... but that's just me

And if you need inspiration...I got some inspiration for ya... how bout making the planets from the first Alien movie, with the ship driffting along with it (haven't seen it? go watch the movie... rent it... buy it... etc.

what do you mean, as in fully?

No not the whole, just the left side. It's only a part that is ravaged. But never mind, it's a quality piece, you did very well

Very nice! It's almost as if the planet were underwater. I really liked the combinations with the blue colors and the sort-of-green.
