Description: The Tsuchinoko is a cryptid snake from Japanese folklore and mythology, the name Tsuchinoko means "child of soil", which is a widely known name in western Japan, while other regions, like northeastern Japan, refer to the creature as Bachi Hebi. The main feature of the Tsuchinoko that makes it stand out when compared to other snakes is its wide central region of its body that is wider than its head and tail, it is unknown why a snake like the Tsuchinoko would have a wide and flattened body structure. Some accounts of people encountering the Tsuchinoko describe it being able to leap 3.3 feet in distance, and being able to double-jump midair to gain extra distance. Like most snakes, the Tsuchinoko has a set of fangs in its mouth, and venom that is similar to that of a Viper, it could be possible that the Tsuchinoko is an undiscovered Viper species native to Japan. Legends of the Tsuchinoko say that some Tsuchinoko are capable of mimicking Human speech and able to lie on its own, some say it even has a taste for alcohol, one of the strangest legends about the Tsuchinoko is its ability to swallow its own tail and roll away at good speeds, similar to the Hoop Snake of North American legends. In today's culture, the Tsuchinoko has made several appearances in games and TV shows, like the Tsuchinoko endemic life that can be captured and placed as a pet in Monster Hunter World, and the Pokemon Dunsparce is based on the Tsuchinoko, and many others.

Personal Thoughts: Personally, this is my favorite of all the cryptids, snakes in general are really cool, and this one is my favorite snake cryptid. It would be really cool if I could see a live Tsuchinoko in person, if they really do exist that is. Anyways, I'm happy they added this one to the Paranoia mod, I recall it having a previous version, and I gotta say, this version looks way better in appearance, it even uses the Red-Tailed Boa animations and AI from the Wild New World mod. Plus this one has no bugs or glitches and the modeling and textures are very realistic on it, I highly recommend getting this one for your cryptid zoo or as a bonus animal in a Japanese themed zoo.
