Lucina in Smash
So Lucina is one of those clones - aka a free character - but even to look at she's very similar to Marth (I understand she's a descendant of his, though that's excuse!)
And yet I play as her more than Marth now. I previously mentioned that I wasn't good at spacing out my Marth attacks, but with Lucina I don't need to! She's still quite low on my list of used characters but I do get something out of her now and then.

Lucina in the Fire Emblem series
Fire Emblem has probably become one of the biggest Nintendo franchises. It's seems like we get a new Fire Emblem every few years now. The astonishing exemplification of this is how the series got three newcomers in Smash while Zelda didn't get any at all.
Maybe because the games are made by Intelligent Systems and now they've hit on a good thing they don't make anything else but it is at least good new for FE fans.
This huge influx of characters was one of the reasons I didn't propose any more newcomers besides the already established Lyndis (the other because I don't know enough about the series) I'm sure nobody would vilify me too much for that.
I get the impression Lucina would be one of those characters who doesn't make a huge impression on the series and gets forgotten about in the grand scheme of things but since she kind of came about in a time when crossovers and references are big selling points maybe she'll find her place after all.
