This one is great too. Feel more like comic style because of the thick contour lines. You have certainly changed of medium for this one.
I like the tatoos (or face painting ?) and the big knot of the turban.

I know! I've missed you! You're one of a handful of people that I stay on DA for - not that I'm not absent for long periods of time.
I go back and forth on traditional and digital media. Because I teach in both subjects I have to maintain a level of knowledge and facility in both. So I emphasize hybridization - combining both medias so that you can get the best of both worlds. : )
I always love to draw! I just wish I had more time - this month I have just been so very busy with other things. :\

I am a teacher. I studied theater for awhile, but finished my degree in Illustration at an art school in Colorado. When I graduated, my department chair offered me a position to teach as an adjunct. So, I've been teaching for almost three years and I am almost done with my master's degree! : )
I've heard the term 'plastic arts' before, but I'm not sure if we use it the same way. How do you use it?

In french "les arts plastiques" are simply "art" in english for what I find on the web.
Why do we say "plastique" ? Maybe because of the manual aspect of it, I guess... OK, I checked and the word "plastique" was pointing to the arts on the modeling at first then it includes painting and graphic arts (thus the arts of surface and volume), the term now refers to any art that has an action on the matter, even evoking forms.
Hum, I don't know if I make sense in english... The explanation on wikipedia is complete but only in the french version, if you have the courage to go through a translator online or something you may learn more details about it ^^

I remember reading about desert punk in one of those "how to create fantasy characters" books that I own. I haven't seen much of it on DA. Maybe when Steam and Cyber punk dies down a bit. Would be cool to see snowboards used as sand boards to get around the dunes.
Nicely done, Kit. I love the textures.

Thanks, I've been looking a lot at Jean Giraud these days. I think that's where a lot of this is coming from. I've been a little bummed because he was someone that I always wanted to meet.

Yeah that would have been neat since he was someone that worked a variety of visual art industries. It would have been nice to have met Frank Frazetta as well. I was bummed when I heard he died.
