Description
Done on commission for ~Slave-of-Dreams .Again, I usually don't upload multiples unless there's a major change. In this case, the commissioner wanted Fenris to be paired with a sword rather than the heart I usually do.
I based it loosely after the Blade of Mercy, though I didn't do all of the tracery since it would show up all the time, since the only glowing floss that exists AFAIK is white. The edges, however, do glow. I think it came out well.

The sword has a bit of thick aluminum wire that I wrapped with yarn to disguise it, both in the blade and the handle. It adds a bit of extra thickness, so I didn't end up needing to use any stuffing.

Thanks! I've considered using plastic canvas, too. I've been using it in some TRON stuff, but it's annoying to stitch in place.

awesome sword, does it have any kind of internal support. I need to make a sword for a commission and I was thinking of adding some wire inside to keep it stiff. any tips??

I used a doubled length of heavy gauge aluminum wire inside the blade, so that it wouldn't end up being too heavy, but so the support would still have physical structure. I wrapped the wire in yarn as well. I also stuck a litte piece down into the handle itself.
It ended up working well, but if you plan on having a character hold it, have a piece running most of the length of the sword so that it stays a bit more rigid. In this case it wasn't necessary, but if you want it to be holdable without flopping, it would be.

Well, I do take online payments with Google Checkout, and I've shipped internationally without problems. So, orders from other countries aren't really a problem (and are actually quite commonplace).

Aww, thank you! :3 I had a lot of fun with the sword, my Alistair sackboy is DEFINITELY going to have one of those and a shield, now. (And a rose, and a wheel of cheese, and Jowan's Oath pendant, and Jowan is going to have a pet rabbit, a staff, his phylactery, and... I swear there was more. Accessory overload.)
Hopefully Anders will get to you soon, too! I haven't seen any updated information regarding customs, etc. but I know my order to Spain made it okay. Yours should be a bit quicker, I would think, and it's only been a few days (including a postal holiday over here).
