Probably one of my personal favourites to date.

The write-up on numbat as totem animal / animal guide can be found here (along with the older illustration! Lol):

Hmmm... I'll definitely have to consider buying one of these prints.

So, you're from Perth too? Have you heard of Project Numbat [link] ?
I've just joined in the last few weeks but I haven't been to a meeting yet.

I love numbats. I just wish that more people knew about them and that they weren't endangered.

Thank you so much! this is actually one of my personal favourites in terms of works that I've done, but very few other people appreciate it, so it's lovely to get comments like this!

It's odd that it wouldn't have much attention. But if it's an older piece, people who discover your work might not look through all of your gallery, unlike me, so they might miss it.

I also forgot to watch you... fixed it now.

Thanks, I really love numbats. I always enjoy seeing them at our local Zoo, they are really adorable animals.

The aboriginal-style pattern fits so well! I love it!

Ravenari In reply to Wolfyu [2008-07-08 00:32:58 +0000 UTC]

I don't think it's an Aboriginal style; more just a generic 'tribal' or primal style. But thank you!

Sorry for my mistake then. xD Our local zoo here in Missouri has an 'Austrialia' area with similar patterns, so I assumed. :B

*Similar patterns on the walls of the buildings in the area, I mean.

Ohh. The first ever painting by you I saw was a numbat. You make them look so special, I can see why you like this one a lot. The face, especially the eye is breathtaking.

I love the coplex background, it looks slightly hypnotic. It seems appropriate too, what with the attention-to-detail thing mentioned in the write-up. I love how you work that stuff in.

I also love numbats, they're awesome.

Fantastic..
I'm sorry to ask, but how long it takes you to shape most of your creations?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ravenari In reply to TheGreatMC [2008-04-23 13:24:27 +0000 UTC]

These days um... maybe about 4-5 hours? Inking with the fineliner takes up most of that, colouring is only about 45 minutes. Sometimes more if I'm doing more layers (like the Malleefowl picture took some time to colour).

Something like this would have taken me aaaaaaages a year ago.
