Thank you so very much....Actually, the shading was a whole lot of fun to do....i took a whole lot of liberties and changed it in ways that a real skull could never change...heh....

Nasty. I like the way the bone appears elastic and is being pulled away. Very effective.

Actually, i plan on painting several of my drawings like this, with a few more things thrown in. We are building a studio at this moment and i have an easel in the studio that is capable of holding very large canvases....When i paint one of these drawings, it well be on a large canvas so i can be more detailed....So....i am waiting to use the big easel in the studio....
When i am done with them, i will add them to my gallery.

O_O I'd say it turned out QUITE well indeed! Very spiffy... mmmm skulls... I love the idea of the "skin" being pulled away from the skull.

I like the way the supposed hard texture of bone is pulled and pierced like skin. A very good play on what you expect from a skull.

I'm always in awe of how you can convey the texture and mass defirentiation between different objects in your drawings. The metal does actually look metalic, but another amazing thing is that you seem to be able to alter the mass of an object, by making an object both solid and fluid at the same time! The skull looks as tho its sminiling, even tho the rest of the drawing appears to tense and painful! Just brilliant!!

Thank you so much for the very kind words. i like the observations that you made and they were so eloquently stated. i kind of like to mess with the solidity of things in my drawings. Now all i have to do is learn how to do it better in my paintings.
You know, the fact that the skull is smiling in spite of the painful circumstances may have something to do with the fact that i am the same way....i am one of those people who likes pain when it is inflicted correctly. When i drew in the needles, i asked my Husband "what do they look like....i have forgotten." In answer he took one of the many needles We save for play-piercing and put it through the skin of my forearm. It is one of those deliciously painful things..sort of like getting a tattoo(during which i frequently fall asleep)!!

Yep, i know what you mean about it being soothing.
Ya know, if you ever come to visit, perhaps we can talk about me giving you a tattoo....i have given several to my Husband and He has given me some too.

I like the smoothness of the drawing too. It gives it a rubbery/ stretchy feel.
Very well done!
