What's that done in, colored pencils? Very vivid colors. Maybe, just maybe, too vivid? It's pretty much perfect around the lightswords, but the clothing parts... I don't know. I could've used some desaturating, though it does look sharper now, so.
I've just talked about the face-thing in your work, this is another example of what I mean - the expressions look good in general, but due to the placement of the eyes, and mouths to a lesser extent, the faces have a masculine look to them. And yes, before you or anyone else replies that not every single female face has to look all barbie-dolly and feminine and "oh gosh *twinkle twinkle*" (whatever that means, I got confused by my own phrasing), I can't help but squint trying to picture the eyes (&mouths) a tad lower on the face.
It's a petty issue, yeah.

Yeah, they're pencils. Yeah, the piece did turn out quite vivid; I'm not sure I should've attempting digitally tweaking it (since I have no clue what I'm doing in those programs beyond resizing). What do you mean by desaturating (I'm terribly limited in my technical terms)?
Yeah, I've had the masculine remark in some of my other sites and I've noticed it's a bad habit I have with my females and males: males always end up looking too feminine because the mouths are too low, and females have enormous masculine chins. I don't know if it's subconsious or what, but I've been trying (and failing) to fix it over the years. Anyway, yeah, I can see where you're coming from there... those are some masculine chins!
Overall, this one's another old one, most pieces done in early '06 and beyond are chock full of old inaccuracies and such that I've mostly noticed now. Hence why my scraps gallery is so large in comparison to the main gallery.

Saturation. Um, yeah, basically that's just how vivid your colors look; saturating a picture is bringing the colors out, while desaturating> (which, by the way, Firefox's spell-check tells me is not a word - but then it also tells me "Firefox" is not a word) is obviously the exact opposite, where you tone colors down.
Any half decent graphic editor has a adjustment slider or whatever for it.
Although, now that I try and picture it, I notice that you didn't leave much in the way of an outline, so decreasing the color intensity now would probably make the whole thing just unsharp, so maybe it's just as well.
Anyways, I wasn't saying this was bad. Honestly, it's one of the more interesting pieces in the twilek-club. And in case it's appearing I'm just running around your gallery pointing at stuff and yelling "wah! that's too big! that's too small! that's wrong!" - it's meant as friendly advice, I like your work just fine.
peace

Ah, so it's something digital then. I'm still bumming around photo editing programs to get the hang of them, so I'll give that a spin.
Oh I know you didn't mean ill; I know I tend to come off as huffish, I assure you it's unintentional as I appreciate any crit I can get, I just find it a bit of a moot point to crit older pieces. I do enjoy crits on my newer pieces very much, so your breakdown of the Ezell piece was most welcomed.

i looove the poses... and the lighting *dies*. the fabric-folds are perfect
i have one minor quibble, though. the eyes of the one in blue seem off, like they are tilted to far to the right on her face. also, her right (viewers right) kneecap looks very uncomfortable. it maybe needs a crease/dent in the middle, right now it looks vaguely like a bubble.
however, both of those things could be explained by saying she's not human and has different anatomy... all right, i'm rambling. good job, keep it up ^^.

Well, I'm always working on anatomy on humanoids, I kinda lost patience on her and decided "What the hell, inking time". I tend to overexaggerate certain body parts in the spirit of semi-realistic cartoonism so the kneecap could be a subconscious protest to pointed and smooth knees in other styles. Mebbe... Or I just goofed. Ah well, there's always more to draw.
Thanks for commenting.

Oh no, keep them whatever colour you like. That's the fun part of her character... her eyes are never the same.

You're very welcome! I think coloring is like riding a bike. It seems really natural to me, at least since I got the hang of it. It would be really sad if you forgot, though. I'm glad you didn't. =]
