Ivysaur are medium sized amphibious reptile Pokemon that evolves after 16 months (1.3yrs) as a Bulbasaur if it chooses to. They primarily leave their communities in pairs they formed as Bulbasaurs upon evolution to live their lives, sometimes solitary. The buds on their backs have started to bloom, with a very short stem stack starting to form under it the bud is slowing blooming to become a flower. Their bodies also modify to support the tremendous weight of their blooming flowers, becoming more sturdy losing their webbing between their toes and ability to hop. Their scales become wider to reduce heat, which the grooves into their Ossicones to help with this. Ivysaur become ready to evolve into Venusaurs around 32 months (2.6yrs), this is shown when their blooming flowers on their backs start to let off a strong aroma. Sick Ivysaur are identified by their wilting buds and leaves, along with losing all scales.

In the wild, Ivysaur will find shallow bodies of water to cool themselves down from the heat while this also waters their plants. They can also be seen in mud pits which gives the same cooling effect along with gaining nutrients from the Earth, Ivysaur don't normally burying into the ground unless it's the winter. Which Ivysaur who paired up as Bulbasaur keep each other warm, being seen in pairs as during very harsh winters many Ivysaur come together for warmth. Much like their prior forms, they all sport different plants and body types depending of their climate. Ivysaur no longer can swim so they choose to only cross creeks and shallow bodies of water to get from one place to the next.

Ivysaur are endangered however, due to this they are bred in a program to sustain the species. However, most who grew up in the program are domesticated and cannot be released into the wild as hoped. Ivysaur in the wild however are not as vulnerable as their previous evolution, not afraid to attack if need be. It is not uncommon to find damaged leaves on Ivysaur whether it's from battling Pokemon or other Ivysaur.

Shiny Ivysaur are genetically mutated, sporting a very vibrant yellow blooming flower and roughly the same bright vibrant greens. This doesn't help much for wild Ivysaur who need to avoid predators, but for domestic Ivysaur it's for aesthetic purposes for a shiny due to the colouring of the Pokemon.

Ivysaur are strictly herbivorous Pokemon, aside from gaining extra nutrients from the sunlight via photosynthesis. During the Autumn months, the bud shrinks to compact nutrients as the leaves become red, yellow or orange like many other plant Pokemon. Sometimes but rarely, losing their leaves and grow back in the Spring.
