Blastoise is a semi-bipedal tortoise Pokemon who has evolved from Wartortle after the 32 months (2.6yrs) mark. Around this stage, they have developed blasting cannons that pop out from their shells. Forming new water sacs that are attached to the cannons, being able to blast very high powered water jets that can break through steel if pressurized enough. Gaining a large amount of bulk in their evolutions, this allows them to remain stationary when blasting water powerful enough to blow back most other Pokemon with its use. They have since then shed their silky fur remaining behind are newly formed ossicones and a shorter tail.

Wild Blastoise have been observed forming small groups of Wartortle together on beaches they patrol, why this happens is unclear but most speculate that these Wartortle were once Squirtle a Blastoise had laid eggs of. The true reasoning is for bigger defenses against intruding Pokemon onto the beaches and even other rivaling Blastoise. However, it's not uncommon to find lone Blastoise roaming the beaches without being accompanied by Wartortle. They can be fairly territorial to intruding forces on their beaches, but are easily quelled by showing those who go into their territory are not threats. This cannot be said when a Blastoise has a nest of eggs to protect, usually charging or rapid spin attacks towards potential predators or egg snatchers primarily.

Wild Blastoise don't have many predators due to large size and their very sturdy shells. Reports of injury from Blastoise attacks are a small handful, but reported 8 deaths every year being bone or skull crush related death reports. Blastoise raised since Squirtle are known for being very gentle with their trainers and family, but still cautioned to work with such a bulky Pokemon.

Genetic mutations in Blastoise makes them a purple colour with a deep green shell, forming green eyes with a different yellow coloured belly. Why this mutation occurs is a mystery like many shiny Pokemon seen in the wild, colour mutations in general seem to be an entire mystery but some are speculated.

Blastoise are omnivores, focusing much on eating vegetables and plant life. Any meat they eat consist from Bug Pokemon and some small Fish Pokemon like Barboach. It's not known for Blastoise to hibernate in winter months mostly due to picking warmer areas to go to, those that do are usually domesticated and wild Blastoise find large caves to live in. Sometimes noted they even hibernate with other Blastoise or other hibernating Pokemon to remain warm during the cold months.
