If I could sum this episode up in one phrase it would be this: "It's MLP: FiM's Look Before You Sleep done correctly". For one thing Tommy and Chuckie are BABIES, therefore them fighting like this despite being best friends is natural, they were acting like kids because they ARE kids. Another thing this does better is the "Odd Couple" dynamic, with Ratity and Applejack it was just one cultural stereotype against another, here Tommy and Chuckie each have their own justifiable reasons for their behavior. Normally Tommy lets his parents clean up after him as babies do, I was much like him for a long time. Chuckie, on the other hand I can relate to as an adult, I'm a very organized guy, very particular, if I find one thing out of place I go berserk. Granted im a bit of a pigpen, but still. The biggest thing that sets this episode apart from LBYS is that Tommy and Chuckie apologizing for their behavior and it's pulled off naturally and it is genuinely heartwarming. Also Phil and Lil being 3rd wheels to the conflict didn't make it worse by being oblivious like Twilight was, they try to warn Tommy and Chuckie repeatedly of what's gonna happen and give them both a justified "we told you so" when it does happen. It's a very relatable episode, sometimes you have to accept that your friends tend to be different from you in more way than one, including the way THEY live, and you gotta follow their rules sometimes. I also wonder sometimes: "How do they make green Jell-O green?"
