Description TL;DR Begins Here

In the turbulent times of the first eras of creation, Gaia began creating aspects of herself that could manage and defend the various niches that she eventually created. Dryton was the first to be created and the seas swelled and were depleted several times before his initial task was largely done. The dinosaurs, the mighty thunder lizards that would reign over the planet for 160 million years, were the latest order of life to grace her surface. Much learning and experience was gained for the planet as several eons of an evolutionary arms race between its inhabitants continued. Life in general, was successful…until the late cretaceous. A malign entity, in the guise of a colossal meteor, found the blissfully unaware biosphere and descended. It took no more than mere minutes for its intentions to be made clear, its landing had created a massive crater; the debris visible from space and gradually blocking out the sun as it enveloped the planet’s sky like a shroud. The impact alone had wiped out several species in the area and the long term effects would only escalate. Gaia, having some foresight into possible extinctions, had been busy creating underground bio domes that would preserve and further evolve various species she felt were worth keeping. She had taken several key specimens and gradually throughout time guided them to these sort of natural reserves…the current series of events turned those reserves into shelters in short order. In blinding pain at having been struck so and in grief over a mass extinction of unprecedented and unplanned scale, Gaia sent a charged message to The Great Maw and Dryton rose with all the furious hunger that his primordial origins entailed. The titanic shark practically ruptured the seas he was hibernating in and like a billowing thunderhead he levitated his way onto land and toward the crater. The meteor was an alien entity, that much was clear and its abilities were the most destructive ever seen before or since. It didn’t matter much to The Great Maw as he repeatedly ravaged it both with his teeth and with his innate abilities to desiccate any type of matter with enough time. The meteor’s outer shell of cosmic rock and ice disintegrated into dust and vapor under the onslaught and the horrible shell of the entity was revealed. The battle waged for days as the two dreadnoughts pounded the life from each other, neither side giving or asking for quarter. Despite grievous injuries, Dryton eventually damaged the inner workings of the shell to the point that it decided that now would not be the best time to achieve its agenda of mass of genocide. It took what was left of itself and left, taking what it had learned and gained from its experience on the planet to recuperate and plot in the safety of the blackness of space. Dryton, carrying the fury of the entire planet, was spent and barely made it a mile over what would later become the Atlantic Ocean before limply sinking into it and drifting off into a much deserved rest. It would be thousands of years before Dryton would recover and in the meantime, the planet had some major housekeeping to do….

So ended the reign of the dinosaurs and the first incident with extraterrestrial life; what remained were little proto-mammals that had survived the chill and the noxious fumes that had claimed most other life and thus Gaia slowly set herself right again. The entity had left a large amount of itself scattered over the planet, as most injured things do and strange and powerful life forms began to emerge…that were not a part of the plan. These were the Titans, the first kaiju that were not created by Gaia and they were a destructive and selfish lot. There had been Titans before but never to this scale and never this many at once. Like any new species introduced into an existing biosphere, they pushed out what remained of the dinosaurs and made a literal nightmare of themselves for other developing species when they weren’t voraciously tangling with each other. Dryton was still recovering in the depths of the sea and no other life form could stand half a chance against such massive creatures. Gaia needed a clear cut yet subtle approach, something that keep the obnoxious parasites from claiming everything for themselves and ruining the much needed balance of things. Enter the Death Coil…Shimaku was the second aspect to be created and immediately set about doing what he was meant to do; kill kaiju. He failed, as a lot of young creatures do, but unlike his descendents, Shimaku was a creature of instinct that also had a capacity for learning and learned the ways of his enemies. It wasn’t too long before the Titans began to dwindle in numbers and it didn’t matter how many times they put the serpent down, it would reappear months later and execute them; sometimes in embarrassing ways. They began to band together and thus Shimaku learned how to deal with more than one enemy at a time and to use their numbers against each other. Relentlessly hunted, the Titans were stalked and executed to the last one and Shimaku was allowed to hibernate in his own personal dwelling as a reward. The Catacombs of Death emerged as a migrating phenomenon that occurred whenever Shimaku stayed in a location for any set amount of time, its presence indicating that there was slaying to be done.

After the fall of the Titans, Gaia was faced with an interesting conundrum. Many of the new dominate life forms were of various different persuasions that had nothing to do with most of the earlier forms of life. These were the birds and the mammals, creatures that had learned to reward maternal and group instincts to insure their own survival. Resourceful, adaptive and….fluffy, mammals and birds were allowed to fill the void the dinosaurs left behind and Gaia truly had no idea on how to represent them. Dryton would just eat them and Shimaku was always paranoid that one of them would grow to the size of a large hill and he’d have to run his tail blade through its windpipe. Not exactly the most understanding or sympathetic of guardians. Remembering the Titans and the diversity they had inadvertently created, Gaia set about inciting a large influx of potential guardian kaiju. The objective was to create a surplus of them and then weed out the weak until only the best and most adaptive remained. As always, Gaia was both creator and destroyer and upon giving them the benefit of existence, they were effectively left to their own devices. To ensure that competition between them all was maintained, Gaia took the third oldest order of life and created a motivating messenger. A trickster that delighted in taking all that there was to offer and promoting the continued prosperity and expansion of individual species…at the expense of others…; this whimsically devilish creature was Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies. Taking to its new role with glee, Beelzebub toyed with and at times tormented the new guardians. His sardonic buzzing heralded the consumption of resources, the conquest of territory and the cultivation of competition. Heckled and goaded by the agile and disease spewing white fly, the guardians were forced to tackle each other for what they needed and before long a series of battles unto that of a tournament took place across the globe. Shimaku watched on from the shadows, studying them and ensuring that the defeated stayed down. Like a wraith he would strike and as the guardians fell, they learned to fear the blue beacon like eyes inside that sunken skull like head. Among the guardians one in particular stood out to Shimaku, a creature that for all intents and purposes was his complete opposite. This creature was Rainsha.

Rainsha was one of two remaining guardians that rose from the rodent class, of the two she was the infinitely more tolerable. Carrying traits that would later be transferred to all those like her in the future, Rainsha rose as effectively the first squirrel. Smaller than most of her competitors, it somewhat surprised Shimaku that she was able to handle her opponents as well as she did. Forced to leave her heavily forested home when Beelzebub saturated the water supply with acid, Rainsha began her quest with the only real of goal of finding a new place to live and eat in peace. It didn’t help that half of her competition couldn’t help but feel an instinctual urge to eat her. Having no choice but to defend herself with what little she had, Rainsha relied on her agility and quick wit as well as her ability to glide and float to out maneuver her often times bigger and more lethal opponents. Rainsha never went out of her way to kill her foes, merely subdue them enough to the point she could escape. While Beelzebub found the underdog’s escapades infinitely amusing, Shimaku was becoming further and further aggravated by the giant rodent’s pacifistic wiles. Dissatisfied with the lack of earnest kills, Shimaku began arranging for the rodent’s untimely demise. Luring, leading or outright chasing them into her path, Shimaku was determined to smite such a weak creature from existence by having the strongest survivors come across her. It didn’t take much as many of those said survivors were more than happy to have a rematch with the feisty and cunning creature that had eluded them. Often finding herself in the most awkward and compromising of positions and locations, Rainsha was forced take a more aggressive stance toward her fellow guardians. While nearly facing doom at every turn, the squirrel goddess began to tap into the secrets of her own nature and so it was that the first evidence of ‘chi’ was actively used in combat.

It turned out that Rainsha was a kaiju that was inherently keyed into the seven chakras and with each mighty opponent Shimaku sent her way; she gradually learned to activate them and the power that each one gave her. Along her back the symbol of each one would glow ominously and her opponent often found themselves suddenly at a disadvantage as the wily kaiju suddenly pounded them with supernatural and often time’s elemental fury. Her body becoming more and more infused with ‘chi’, the raw life force of all things, Rainsha began to learn the art of quiet contemplation in order to understand her powers and the techniques of her foes. Her movements went from frantic and full of fear to gentle and assured. Instead of a mad dash for survival it was more like a dance that captivated more than one mighty would be predator into dropping their guard. In modern times one would swear that what Rainsha was doing was something akin to a more primal version of Tai Chi Chuan. Being smaller and physically weaker than most of her enemies, Rainsha was almost forced to learn how to turn their strength into a weakness and her weakness likewise into a strength. Springy and resilient, Rainsha occasionally found herself getting her fluffy butt handed to her more than once as she worked out what did and didn’t work. Being that she all but refused to kill her opponents unless they pushed themselves beyond what was sane, many of her foes were somewhat relieved that they could engage in a battle that didn’t involve getting obliterated…Shimaku was not impressed. What finally ripped the Death Coil’s last sinew of patience was when after utterly devastating her latest opponent, the pointy eared and more enlightened squirrel goddess healed and mended her fallen foe. At that point Shimaku had seen enough and was intent on putting his fangs down on the matter…literally. Striking from the cover of the foliage, Shimaku drove his necrotic venom deep into her just revived opponent’s brain. The paralyzing poison rotted his skull from the inside out and the kaiju died almost instantly. Stunned at what she had just seen, Rainsha chittered rabidly in the psychic dialect of all of Gaia’s kaiju, demanding an explanation. Shimaku’s reply was a cracking whip of his tail across her face that was so hard it sent the white squirrel kaiju doing cartwheels into a cliff. Losing her composure in her grief fueled rage; Rainsha was quite literally ‘schooled’ by Shimaku in the art of merciless combat. Maintaining control throughout the rather tragic exchange, Shimaku systematically beat Rainsha into the ground and was about to finish her off when Beelzebub reminded Shimaku that he wasn’t really supposed to be offing the competitors if they weren’t half dead already. Having proven his point, Shimaku conceded to Beelzebub’s subtle warning and left Rainsha broken and bleeding next to her festering former opponent. Beelzebub made a slightly disappointed hum before telling the battered hairball to wise up or die before leaving as well. Torn between letting herself bleed to death and wanting to rip that mirror backed serpent’s throat out with her teeth, Rainsha dragged herself literally with said teeth to a small grove and focused on mending herself.

Several weeks later a more focused and temperamental Rainsha reemerged in the final rounds of the competition. Having reached six of the seven chakras, Rainsha now had a versatile and powerful set of abilities to match against her opponent’s equally powerful skills. She had also learned how to activate several of them at time and though she couldn’t keep such states indefinitely, she could reach a zenith of all six for a few moments that left her opponents reeling from the chaotic onslaught. During these bouts Beelzebub would ask if Shimaku knew what fear was. After a moment of the usual silence the fly lord would state mockingly that the fluffy seed chewer might become Shimaku’s personal definition of the word. To this Shimaku would simply flick his tongue in apathetic detachment. Having been brought down to ten, the final remaining guardians had one last task before Gaia would accept them as one of her own. They had to either defeat or survive a whole day and night against Dryton, Shimaku or Beelzebub. Rainsha took little time in planting herself defiantly in front of the massive serpent, to which Beelzebub earnestly started thrumming with what amounted to hysterics. Over the course of twenty four hours, four more of the guardians met their end. Two were outright eaten or turned into a skeleton and crushed by Dryton, one had its head turned into soup by Beelzebub after being infected with every pestilence unknown to man and the last was lacerated in a spiral groove from its left ankle to the tip of its scalp by Shimaku’s diamond sharp side spines. Rainsha was among the seven that made it through the night. Having made grisly work out of her fellow guardian that actually had the balls to face the chilling serpent; Shimaku had the rest of the time frame to engage in an epic game of cat and mouse with Rainsha. Her ability to fly and climb was offset by his ability to burrow and swim at break neck speeds. His ability to sense her now overwhelming life force was countered by her keen senses of the more material variety. Having seen a majority of her abilities, Shimaku had already found ways to counter them though he still found himself stalled from time to time as he pursued her. Her ability to heal herself and surround herself in a veil of positive energy offered protection against the glancing blows of his lethal spines and the chilling death shroud aura. It was around midnight that Shimaku finally cornered his prey and if he actually had facial muscles he might have even smirked as Rainsha stood her ground and took a stance; egging him on with her rock hard little claws. With little provocation, the two fell into a dance as old as time, the dance between the hunter and the hunted.

Beelzebub was content with the performance his reserved arachnid foe and avian ally had achieved against him and left with some webbing still stuck to him to see how the match between his fellow guardian and the earnest newcomer was coming along. Only an hour remained and frankly he was eager to see if any of the two that had challenged Shimaku still lived. His mental wager was correct as Rainsha was matching the whipping saw like motions of Shimaku blow for blow. Her padded feet and claws whipping his deadly fangs away from her just as his coiling reflexes allowed him to avoid her more aggressive strikes. Around and around they circled each other, trading and evading blows that shattered stone and tore through trees. It was becoming apparent though that even with her reserved combat style, that Rainsha was gradually losing steam. Shimaku was a creature that was alive yet not alive, walking the razor’s edge between life and death. He might as well have been a living corpse in motion for as torn up as he was now, he was not tiring. Death comes swiftly and slowly, instantly and agonizingly over the course of years. Being death made physical, Shimaku was not concerned with petty things like fatigue; the power of Gaia’s predatory nature was strong in him and as inevitable as the seasons. The two couldn’t have been further opposites if they tried. At this point Rainsha ran on will power and her own training as Shimaku in all his sinister calm continued to up the ante; his death shroud roiling off him in waves as he pushed himself into his highest state, the literal personification of his title: the Death Coil. A luminescent pale aura enveloped Rainsha as Shimaku went for the kill, the chilling surge of his scales sapping the strength from her limbs as he secured her in his serpentine grip. His form seemingly hollow, the bones visible through the phantom flesh and a spectral scythe like blade emerging from his gaping mouth. He towered over her shivering form, waiting to see if his full presence had succeeded in making the rodent submit. It was ‘almost’ infuriating to see that despite the drop in temperature and vitality that her will was as strong as ever. Beelzebub buzzed nervously, anxious to see the climax of this vendetta laden duel. Shimaku reeled his head back and swung down, intent on piercing straight through Rainsha’s skull…only for it to be dissipated in a brilliant violet light that blazed from the crown of her head. It’s vibrancy throwing Shimaku off and sending him tumbling away. Lifting off the ground on her tail in a meditative pose, Rainsha placed her claw tips together and her remaining chakras burst into life. The swirl of colors creating a rainbow of energy to glide across the insides of her tattered wing folds and down her tail; the last chakra Sahasrara, the one that governs pure consciousness and unity with one’s surroundings had been unlocked in a single moment of clarity that only near death could bring. Infused with purity of being and purpose, Rainsha waited for the serpent to rise and attack. More furious than he had ever been, Shimaku lashed out again and again, only to be gently but firmly sent hurtling into various rock formations in a truly karmatic fashion. His Death Coil form had been extinguished and in his fury he did not bother to reenter the state again…this would be his undoing. With control over the kinetic elements and over her own body, Rainsha beat Shimaku to an inch of his existence. Knowing that she did not have long to maintain such a state, Rainsha blasted her foe into the ground one last time and then almost politely, tore his throat out with her teeth. The sun rose over the horizon and the glow of her enlightened unity faded as Shimaku was forced to finally just give up. Buzzing down to greet the exhausted squirrel, Beelzebub hummed out a congratulations to the beleaguered rodent before then shifting over to Shimaku’s still body and buzzing out something akin to “I told you so”.

Gathering the remaining seven together, Gaia rewarded unto the survivors their respective portfolios. For having experienced almost every facet of life, from weakness to strength, from predator to prey, from ignorance to enlightenment; for caring for the well being of her kin as well as herself, for surviving and besting death itself, Rainsha was awarded the portfolio of life and its many functions. Still weak from reconstituting himself, Shimaku presented Rainsha with the power himself as a sign of respect. Humbly accepting the globe of energy and true guardianship, Rainsha turned to the still scarred and torn up serpent and asked what their relationship would be. Shimaku, in his usual dull yet ominous monotone, stated that they would be partners yet rivals as he realized during their battle that there was more to existence than extermination and that Gaia in her wisdom had placed a check on him in the form of Rainsha. He in turn was also the check on her pacifism and warned that he would stop her idiocy if need be. Rainsha chittered good naturedly and retorted that she was looking forward to it. Shimaku flicked his tongue in his usual off handed manner and burrowed back to the Catacombs of Death to fully recuperate; knowing that more than likely he would be needed again in the foreseeable future. The new Earth Guardians set about their tasks and life as ever marched ever onward. Rainsha rose to be something of a leader amongst the guardians, just as Shimaku was to the later to be dubbed Apocalypse Bringers. Her wisdom and emphasis on cooperation kept the distinct kaiju from really tearing into each other over petty differences and life continued to flourish and evolve. Working with the guardian that been chosen to oversee flora in its many forms, Rainsha set about making sure that the various species had places to live and hunt. Her descendents, the squirrels, would spread across the globe and onto almost every continent. They would occasionally fall victim to snakes as was their lot in life but every so once in awhile, a squirrel would devour a snake in the same sort of irony that their now immortal matron had established. Shimaku eventually recovered and would clash with Rainsha in some matters and work together on others, it was largely a matter of ethics rather than morals as the two wanted the same thing, just had different ways of doing so. However as with most eras, the time of the super mammals was drawing to a close as Gaia set loose yet another test for her many children and under the unrelenting weight of the Ice Age, the Earth Guardians and all other kaiju were forced into hibernation. To while away their time, Rainsha joined the other Earth Guardians in the creation of a strange island that moved within a shroud of mist around the world. This island was named Avalon and upon its center Rainsha planted a mighty tree named Yggdrasil that would serve as her primary lair. Upon this island they would meet together if they were needed and Rainsha waved to them was they departed to their respective parts of the world. It would be thousands of years before Rainsha would feel the call to leave her island paradise and face a new challenge…in the eyes of man.

Abilities:

Wit of the Tree Runner-
Rainsha is for all intents and purposes an algamation of many different types of squirrel. It makes sense since she is responsible for creating the species in the first place. As such, she has all the usual qualities of a squirrel such as being able to leap three times her own height from a standing position and can climb on just about any surface that will support her. She is supremely agile both in the air and on the ground, able to leap and dodge out of harm’s way with frustrating ease. This makes her difficult to hit let alone catch. Her sense of sight and hearing are very high, giving her a wide range of detection which only further frustrates attempts to attack her. Her sense of smell isn’t as developed as her other senses but it’s comparable to most mundane rodent species. Her whiskers allow her to detect vibrations in the air which further compounds her array of senses.

Iron Chewer-
Being a giant rodent kaiju, Rainsha has sizable front teeth that can chew through most baser substances. Due to the nature of rodent teeth in general and her own vast supply of positive energy, her teeth regenerate quickly even when broken. This means that Rainsha could technically keep chewing something indefinitely as her teeth just never seem to wear down to the point they are unusable. This makes her fangs dangerous even against moderately armored kaiju as she can quickly gnaw a hole through the armor and into the muscle and then the bone in short order. Her cheeks also expand for the express purpose of carrying anything she can shove in her mouth that will fit. She’s saved lives quite a few times in such a fashion though in general it’s for carrying the enormous seeds dropped by Yggdrasil.

Float like a Butterfly…-
Having the skin flaps of a flying squirrel, Rainsha is capable of gliding and flying for quite awhile with maneuverability that is the envy of other flight capable kaiju. She’s not all that fast unless she achieves enough height to dive but she can dog fight with the best of them and avoid the grasping mitts of land bound enemies. Her long tail acts as a rudder and fluffy bludgeon, capable of swatting some fliers out of the air. Her apparatus of gliding instead of flying allows her to more easily grab hold of enemy flying kaiju and grapple with them with almost the same ease she would on the ground. Her favorite tactics involve looping out of the way and then diving down from behind to drive into the enemy kaiju’s spine and start tearing into them with her claws and teeth; only to leap off of them as their ragged wings flap helplessly when they plummet to their doom.

One with the Soul-
Being a walking chi factory, Rainsha has many supernatural abilities that make her more versatile and dangerous than one would think. Her chi surrounds her like an aura when roused and it actively knits minor injuries and gives a calming but energizing effect to those in close contact with her. She has learned a combat style eerily similar to Tai Chi Chuan in that she can strike with precision and power with what seems like very little effort. Over the years she has learned how to strike pressure points to deal effective damage but more than likely to subdue her foe rather than kill or maim. She can direct her chi into other kaiju or creatures to heal them of all but the most fatal injuries if she desires. Her control over her own body and sheer quantity of energy make her resilient to most poisons and diseases though she has to make an active effort to counter them. Her effective and economic use of energy allows her to often outlast her opponent unless they have no concept of fatigue like a mecha or her rival Shimaku.

Fear the Rainbow-
Rainsha’s sheer quantity of chi comes from having ready access to the seven chakras located vertically up her body. Each one corresponds to a different element and physical attribute that Rainsha makes use of when they are active. Rainsha can activate all of the lower six individually but must open the sixth chakra before opening the seventh. Each one appears as a glowing symbol when they are active. She can activate any two of the lower six at the same time for a short period but cannot activate any more than that without going through the Sahasrara first.
-Muladhara is the first chakra located near the base of her tail. It pulses a crimson red and displays itself as a four petaled circle. It improves her sense of smell and makes her legs stronger, which allows her to run faster, leap higher and kick harder. It is the earth element chakra and under its power Rainsha can cause what looks like seven elephant trunks to erupt from the soil or the surrounding rock to batter, stop and crush her enemy. She can also stomp the ground so hard she can cause earthquakes that shatter the surrounding area. Rainsha is noticeably more sensual when this chakra is active and comes off as more self assured and secure regardless of what she’s facing on physical level.
-Swadhisthana is the second chakra located directly at her pelvis just slightly above Muladhara. It ripples out a vibrant orange and is known by its circle surrounded with six petals. While it doesn’t seem to have any outward physical effects aside from an enhanced sense of taste, the activation of this chakra makes Rainsha more maternal and protective. She also becomes much more creative and almost giddy with happiness leading to a somewhat hyper personality shift. This is the water chakra and much of her new creativity comes in ways of utilizing this element and the many shapes it can take. Often it takes the form of a massive pair of crocodilian jaws made of water that form from the air itself or from a nearby source. Occasionally swarms of smaller snapping jaws on tendrils of water will appear.
-Manipura is the third chakra located at her solar plexus and flares a brilliant yellow in the shape of ten petaled circle. When this chakra is active Rainsha is capable of eating just about anything and her eyes flare with golden light as well as her paws. This is the fire chakra and Rainsha can fire beams of heat from her eyes, eject a flaming, ram looking, horned projectile from her mouth at her foes that detonates with great force or run up and rake them with her super heated claws; leaving charred lashes on their bodies. While under the influence of this chakra Rainsha is very dynamic and brave to the point of almost being hammy. She has no fear and won’t hesitate to remind her foes how awesome she is as she blasts the crap out of them. This can either be insulting or inspiring depending on what side of her you’re on.
-Anahata is the fourth chakra located in between the shoulder blades and it corresponds to the heart. When active it billows out a verdant green in the shape of a circle with twelve petals. When this chakra is active Rainsha is very compassionate to just about everything. She is most likely to heal people while under this chakra and she makes decisions based on intuition and with her heart rather than those based on needs or even logic. Her physical energy levels sky rocket in this form due to the enhancement of her (physical) heart and her fur seems to ripple as if in constant motion. Those that actually manage to strike her find their blows literally brushed aside as her fur transitions the force away from her. Energy attacks are likewise dissipated and neutralized in this manner. This is the wind chakra and while most of its abilities are defensive in nature, it also makes for an effective weapon as Rainsha can fire twin spire like funnels that pierce the enemy with the force of a tornado. This is the most dangerous of her chakras to face when in the air.
-Vishuddha is the fifth chakra and it reveals itself at the back of Rainsha’s neck with a resonating pale blue circle with sixteen petals. Under the effects of this chakra, Rainsha’s hearing range increases tenfold. Rainsha becomes more independent while influenced by this chakra, making her own decisions and instinctively deducting an opponent’s motives. She can get into an opponent’s head and persuade them to agree with her with great skill with this chakra as this chakra has a strong effect on the throat and thus her voice. She thinks much faster and creates solutions easier while under this chakra as well. This is the aether or the element between elements chakra and it corresponds to sound. Rainsha can emit a trumpeting chorus that sounds like a herd of elephants that is so loud on so many octaves it acts like a massive pulse wave. This can send anything with a decent sense of hearing to the floor in agony over having their inner ear screwed with. Those that don’t have a sense of hearing or are deaf feel an unsettling vibration that makes them tingle uncomfortably.
-Ajna is the sixth chakra located directly between and just slightly above Rainsha’s eyes. When active a steady glowing indigo iris with a petal on each side appears, making it seem like Rainsha has a third eye. While active this chakra increases Rainsha’s eyesight exponentially. It is the mind’s eye chakra and is linked to precognition and mental perception. Tendrils of blue energy dance around Rainsha while the chakra is fully in use. These tendrils relay information from all over directly to Rainsha’s brain which gives her a sort of ‘sixth sense’; thus she able to predict an action and respond to it appropriately in the span of a few seconds. This makes her a terror offensively and a nightmare defensively as while her third eye is open, she can evade and counter attack with impunity. In more neutral settings, Rainsha can make short term predictions of the future or visualize an item or being she’s searching for.
-Sahasrara is the seventh and final chakra located at the crown of the head directly between Rainsha’s ears. It is heralded by the radiant glow of a violet circle with one thousand petals. It is the highest and most powerful chakra and it connects to all the others. It can only be accessed when Rainsha has activated the Ajna chakra as it requires the perfect vision of that chakra to find it. While accessing this chakra, Rainsha can enter an Enlightened State in which she is one with everything around her. In this state she can use all of the abilities of the other chakras simultaneously. She can only remain in this state for about seven minutes, any longer than that risks either death via total body purification or psychic burn out and in which she would become comatose for about a year. With the case of the former, it is likely she would reincarnate herself into the body of an ordinary squirrel and grow into her full kaiju form again over the course of a year. When using only the Ajna chakra with Sahasrara, Rainsha can fire balls of mental energy at her foes called Penance Bombs. These balls don’t cause physical damage but instead mental and emotional damage. Depending on where it hits, it can cause anything from extreme fatigue (anus), self destructive rage (genitals), absolute terror (guts), rampant lust (chest), suicidal depression (throat), hallucinogenic insanity (face), and finally total retardation ( top or back of the head).

Laser Guided Rainbow Karma-
Also known humorously as ‘the skittles bomb’ when the modern world first witnessed it; this is Rainsha’s most powerful attack, only accessible through her Enlightened State. A ball of violet energy soon has swirls of indigo, then light blue, then green, then yellow, then orange and finally red as it forms in Rainsha’s paw. The ball gets bigger and bigger until its nearly as big as she is. Prism beams from her eyes crackle and snare the victim in place before the ball is slung onto the beams and it is railed directly into the opponent. It is, to put it in layman’s terms, the ultimate mind rape. All of the effects of the various Penance Bombs are inflicted upon the victim at once as the various elemental effects tear into their bodies. The effect is so heinously damaging on the mind that victims are more often than not turned into vegetables, completely brain dead from the emotional fracturing and mental overload. The only way to survive such an attack is to empty one’s mind of everything, having lost all sense of material desire or simply be mindless to begin with. Even then the elemental effects can still devastate another monster the point of just keeling over from the pain.

Weaknesses:

Small and light-
Compared to other kaiju, Rainsha is pretty short and light of frame. It doesn’t take much to pick her up and toss her around. Against an equally defensive opponent, she becomes limited in how she can deal with them as her size really doesn’t do her any favors.

Big Fluffy Target-
Rainsha is not armored, not in the slightest. She is almost totally at the mercy of conventional large scale military weaponry. Likewise, kaiju claws and fangs have no trouble getting through that fluffy fur to her skin.

Flies like a Blimp-
Rainsha is also not a very fast flier and will not reach supersonic speeds without some help or judicious use of fire powered propulsion.

My what Small Claws you have-
While her teeth are nasty weapons, her claws are really only good for gripping. They aren’t going to cause all that much damage to another kaiju unless they are as equally vulnerable as she is or more so. That doesn’t stop her from punching them though.

Twilight Blindness-
While possessing acute day and night vision, Rainsha is troubled by the hazy hours of noon and often has to wait until dark or daylight before she can get her crystal telescopic vision back.

Tastes like Diabetes-
Rainsha is to put it bluntly, considered too cute to live by a lot of other kaiju that don’t know what a lethal creature she can be. She often finds herself either unfairly targeted or outright ignored until she starts beating the hell out of people. Even the armies of the world find it hard to take the feisty rodent seriously until she starts punting tanks and exposing the soldiers to 70’s era recreation on steroids.

TL;DR Ends Here

This is Rainsha, my first true to form 'Guardian' kaiju. I had her planned out long before this but Deadpoolrus's contest provoked me into bringing her out early. She is my token 'girly' kaiju much like Mothra was for the Godzilla series. There are many themes running through this one, not all of them are obvious. She will get a KCELL in the future but too early to reveal specifics and such. Her history is long before the actual story so It's alright to share it. As for contest details, I view life as a series of experiences that make up existance. It isn't necessarily a holy force or an evolutionary directive so much as a state of being, more accurately THEE state of being. Everything else is either inanimate or dead. I chose the seven chakras in Hindu religion to give a step by step definement of these experiences. They range from the most base and material to a state of pure energy. Rainsha is a kaiju that has a lot of sub text to her. Her bio also helps define life as life stories are experiences thus they are existance and thus life. I can also congratulate myself on a feminine kaiju that doesn't need to tits to be as such.

Anyway, this is one awesome idea, love the look of it and those powers are also quit interesting, but I really wonder if she'll be able to defeat the King if he ever challenged her ?

Rainsha is a kaiju in the Mothra role so she'd likely fight Godzilla the same way. Kaiju in KCELL that are affiliated or created by Gaia can be slain but also can be reborn so long as they have a suitable vessel. So a fight between Rainsha and Godzilla would likely end with a sacrifice that subdues or forces Godzilla away for a time.

Well I guess nothing can defeat the King, well except nuclear meltdown.
Still, it's an awesome and very original idea which I really love.

Destoroyah got really close at Godzilla's most dangerous, King Ghidorah has always needed some form of help or outside assistance to defeat and SMG basically crippled him before Fire Rodan flew in. Old MG actually defeated Godzilla in the first fight. Kiryu fought the most retarded version of Godzilla ever but succeeded and King Kong either won or fought to a draw. Godzilla CAN be defeated it just requires either overwhelming power or very specific tactics that either neutralize his strengths or target his weaknesses. In other words, you either have to be beyond the impossible or really smart to beat Godzilla. It's a supremely HARD thing to do but it's not impossible.

randomemaster360 In reply to RenDragonClaw [2014-04-16 07:32:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's very true, you either need to be insanely powerful so that you can outhmathc his powers, which is almost impossible, or super smart so that you can overwhelm him if you want to defeat him.
And how is it the form of Godzilla that Kiryu fought the most retarded ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RenDragonClaw In reply to randomemaster360 [2014-04-16 12:45:27 +0000 UTC]

I mean retarded in a very literal sense. The SOS Godzilla is by far the least intelligent Godzilla. Godzilla has always had at least an animalistic cunning if not a near human level of sentience. SOS Godzilla had neither. It was a big dumb animal in all but appearance and even that Godzilla's eyes give the impression he's staring off into space...a lot like the Kong Godzilla. At least in that film they deliberately set out to give the idea that Godzilla has a smaller brain than his adversary. In SOS Godzilla is basically a clockwork punching bag for Kiryu. This was how Kiryu basically upstaged Godzilla in his own movie...TWICE. That version of Godzilla in general gives off this impression of stupidity in the same way the GMK Godzilla gives off an impression of thoughtless malice. I know this viewpoint is pretty subjective but after seeing the films, that's the vibe I was given.

SOS Godzilla DID have a rocking theme though, that's his saving grace lol.

(has spent about an hour reading this) ...fuuuuuuuckkk my poor, poor head!(gets an ice pack). I have been holding off reading this one profile for some long, because it is SOOOOO big. But now I see why its so big.

This profile tells me so much more of KCELL's past and very satisfying in that regards. The alien entity kinda sticks in my mind now with how its arrival had changed the world so much to the point that Gaia had no idea what to do then do a "Surival of the Fittest" sort of thing.
With that said, I wonder how long it too Shimaku to kill them all... and how long the Great Trials lasted. 65 MY is a long, long time. There must have been tons of massive creatures. Will we ever get sketches of said creatures? I'd be interested in seeing sketches of once, living kaiju that were were all spawned throughout KCELL history.

Seeing Shimaku "mature" over the ages strikes me. A newbie to start with, to a cold assassin to, to being absolutely enraged with Rainsha(which is equally funny and oddly passionate at the same time), and now the present day image when he thinks before he ends up killing.
Seeing him almost have a mental meltdown over this "life squirrel" sticks out the most to me now instead of that whole Greenland fiasco.

I can also understand Beelzebubs nature more now. I always been confused with his roll as Marez seemed to have the same sort of goal in making change and forcing people to react and evolve. Now I see he's actually just stirs things up as a whole where as Marez truly is more about evolution then anything else.

And of course, Rainsha herself. I feel her compassion and her goals. She makes a nice "life" avatar that I can come to respect.
Also comedic. "Taste Like Diabetes". She needs a picture with "TASTE THE RAINBOW, MUTHA FUCKA!".

And is also funny how great minds think alike. The use of Yggdrisil, Avalon(though I dont got an Avalon and far as I know, no one else does) and the tons of other histories greatest mythological figures always popping up, which I doubt all of them were inspired by either AB or EG. Like Australia's "Rainbow Snake" or basic dragon stories or Quetzalcoatl... actually, are there any dragons in KCELL at all? I don't think I ever seen one.
I digress.

All and all, a great read and insight to KCELL. Now its time to look forward to Hydrune and any possible precursor to him, like you did with Oakenrack's origin. Which, would be nice. Hearing Hydrune's years up to the final trials would certainly be of great, GREAT interest.

I DO have a dragon kaiju planned, though he's not quite what one would expect. Him the civilization surrounding him play with a lot of kaiju tropes. Let's just say it involves 'Space Elves' and my token Ancient Civilization for the series. Well, one that doesn't get utterly blown to hell like Muu or Seatopia did in the Godzilla canon.

Rainsha is a kindhearted poke at the 'cute girly guardian monster' so all of those memes are pretty much spot on for her. Her rainbowness actually comes from the use of the seven chakras which are color coded according to the light spectrum and the strength of their vibrations.

Someday I'll probably do a sketch collection of the Titans and other kaiju during the Trials. The Titans are actually a lot like most Ultraman monsters. Big, bulky and bizarre.

Marez and Beelz differ as much as Conquest and War should. Conquest is about stirring the pot so you can scoop out the best parts for yourself. War is like tipping the whole pot over so you can make a better batch of soup. Hydrune will be interesting once I get back to that.

Space Elves... Well if anyone could make that work and make it respectable. But the dragon.. .hmmm~~~~

Chakra's, then. It oddly fits.

Ultraman style in KCELL? BLASPHEMY!

I can understand that now. They always had me confused, though, for whatever reason. They acted similar and liked to wreck cities a lot.

yay for Hydrune.

Varan, though not having much exposure, is a territorial loner with a viscous temper. He doesn't get along with anyone really.

Rainsha is a tribute to Mothra Leo and all of his crazy piz-zazz and Mothra in general. Her powers reflect the seven chakras and their various attributes which is largely why its so complicated. She pretty much has to since she's not all THAT threatening in terms of a physical brawl.

Mecha-GREGOLE [2010-04-14 21:53:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, the story was downright spectacular. Gives us a nice backstory on the formation of the guardians, and puts a fuckton of character behind each and every one of them. They all play their roles well, and the essence behind all of them becomes very clear.

I admit, I'm a bit biased against the whole fluffy squirrel thing being both the technical pacifist and the "nice" one, being that I find it hard to look at squirrels as even remotely resembling cute or "life-themed". But the story makes it clear that their roles are earned based on their personalities, not their biological forms, so it's easy enough to look past. The Mothra-homage-ness is one of the reasons for that. And I think the design manages to work well as an agile, energetic, arboreal creature that just happens to resemble a squirrel.

The story is the biggest strength, and I think she earned her power and position quite thoroughly. Don't mistake influence on the plot for sue-dom. The defeat-means-friendship dynamic works really well, and she makes a good foil for Shimaku. I'm curious as to what her KCELL would look like, and even more curious as to what that KCELL's "monster" form would look like...

Though I'd have still made her an tarantula hawk or an earwig or something similarly disgusting, just on principle. XP

, I got an interesting idea for the KCELL forms when I really get into them. They don't all follow one general idea and I'm thinking of three primary types to diversify them a bit. Rainsha's KCELL will provide a unique challenge for Shinji, thats for sure.

I can relate to having a bug as the symbol for life lol. They come in stages after all. I figured that if everyone was going to deconstruct the archetype, that I'd go ahead and reconstruct it. From what I've heard, Squirrels can be pretty nasty little bastards at times and Rainsha will be no exception. I figure that since my main kaiju are the epitome of what man hates and fears in nature, that the rivals to these characters would be something man instantly admires or associates with. And just like the main's the archetype is twisted around on its head in a subtle fashion.

What I find interesting so far about Shimaku's character is that he's outwardly terror inducing and inwardly doing what's needed. As his opposite, Rainsha is outwardly appealing and inwardly capable of putting your mental state into a situation worse than death. The so far unnamed other rodent kaiju will be more 'obvious' in terms of what makes rodents creepy bastards but with Rainsha its more subtle and even hidden and that's another difference between them. Shimaku may not explain his intentions much but he makes no effort to hide them either, its literally written all over his scaly face. For Shimaku, communication is more about empathy and body language, keying in on a deeper level, the soul level. It's brutal and razor edged but its honest. With Rainsha though, you never know if the rainbow laced facade is real or genuine. Like rainbows in reality, its there but not there and it changes frequently and with little warning.

The fact that squirrels aren't as nice and fluffy as they seem is exactly why I chose to make Rainsha based on them. Like life in general, she learns to harnass both aspects of it and its in that span between the twinkling of an eye and the flash of pearly teeth that one gets lost trying to find which page she's really on at the moment.

I'm rather proud of this story. I got to show case more of how the estabilished world was set up and as the other guardians filter in, more of the past up to the present events will get to be made clear...providing I actually get off my lazy ass and get it done lol.
