The sitting Griffin chick painted vaguely like Barn owls.The little white and black markings are supposed to be there , even thought they look like bird droppings. I like these painted in soft tan colors.Related content

Also, I just have to ask if you know of the author Mercedes Lackey and her husband Larry Dixon. Larry Dixon is an amazing artist known as the Gryphon King, and your sculptures remind me a lot of his work and their stories. <[link] > here is a link to what I imagine this little guy would look like a few weeks after you sculpture :3 Your creation being the newborn stage and his drawing being in the almost toddler stage.

Wow! Personally I just saw his artwork in a few of his wife's books and then whenever I went to a panel to see her I got to meet him as well. They are such kind and interesting people! They stayed almost 2 hours after the panel ended to take questions and chat with everyone, that got me started on his work and I've found that I love it >.<

Ah, I remember seeing these on ebay! I personally love the design, and thought it came out quite well.
I dont recall ever seeing an adult griffin in this color scheme.....but the baby's shorter beak makes the owl theme work better than the longer face structure on the adults.
I have the brown sitting chick...I also prefer light tan/brown shades on these guys.
