Description Last time, a friend of mine from DeviantArt asked me when I'd submit a new artwork... and then, I had to think of the fact, that I have not draw anything for quite some time.

So, finally: A NEW ARTWORK for all of you!! ^..^

The picture shows the Reptilian hero REPTILE and the new king - KYLE PRIMOR, the son of former king XEVON! After XEVON has been badly wounded in a great battle, KYLE is finally in the position to take over the throne of AKTES!

Very specially dedicated to:
(because he helped me drawing this) and (you know why )!

Also dedicated to my precious friends:
and

And to all my best friends:

... and to everyone, who watches me!!!

"Reptile" and "Kyle Primor" are (c) to myself

Drawing Material:
Pencils, Coloured Pencils, Markers, Acrylics and some PHOTOSHOP enhancement on the light effects

Working Time:

Woow, they're wearing some royally luxurious accesories. Haha! But they ARE royalty after all. They look stern, I really ought to check out the comic this pic is based off of to get a true feeling for it.

Thanks very much. Though I LOOOOVE much detail, I also like my new picture "THE END OF IT", because LESS detail can be nice as well. IT is all about mood and atmosphere. Sometimes, I just need all the deail. Sometimes not.

Sorry it took so long to reply but I haven't been able to even touch a computer for quite a while with the new senester getting under way. But you did it again with complementary detail and shading added to the very flamboyant scene. Even though I don't want to I have to say that Xevon looks flat compared in reletivity to reptile. But all the sheer hard work out ways this by far! Every time it takes you a while to post again the scene on the computer blows us all away!

Thanks so much for acknowledging my curiosty into your next post!

Well, it is not XEVON - but his son (!) Kyle! Kyle is the NEW king over AKTES right now. ^..^
But thank you very much for the comment!

RPG elements set in place, throw in a crazy plot and ta-da, you get a hot-selling fantasy series

ReptileCynrik In reply to Poila-Invictiwerks [2007-01-30 09:44:30 +0000 UTC]

Hehehe... well, thank you. I am pretty sure, that my "universe" so far is quite good for a HUGE fantasy serial! In comic, book or TV style. But who is going to pay for all that... >..< Well, it's a dream. Even if I already have a novel about Reptile getting published, it's no BIG success! But I keep it up.

Ooh, this is awesome!
I like the shine you got on his back from the windows, makes it feel more realistic and jumps out at you. The detail to his scales is sweet as always, and his fancy clothing his highly detailed. Looks like a scale chainmail. The robe or cape draped over his shoulders looks neat, and is a nice colour too
Yet another amazing pic by Reppy ^.=.^

Thank you very much. Well, the window has been TOO bright in the first version though... but this version here is on the edge! It's okay, I guess. And the chainmail was inspired by some other comics I read... anyway, it was better than just leather loincloth.

Very nice job, Pat. >3 It would be awesome if I was to have a lesson from you on how to draw reptilian faces frontal view. XDD

Anyways, it's nice to finally see the colored version! However, I liked your inked version much better than this. Not saying the coloring sucks or anything, but I always liked ink art better than coloring.

Might I ask you a question? How did you color the entire background black? With ink? 'Cuz if you did, DAMN that's a lot of ink right there (you used a brush or something, 'cuz my art teacher had me do that once). Or did you fill it in with photoshop? Heh, it's always useful for an artist to ask these questions so they can learn from them in the future. xDD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReptileCynrik In reply to Ragnarokdragon [2007-01-29 07:28:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, frontal view can be the killer... Though I do have some in my artwork and comic collections! ^..^ If we talk next time, I can show you some examples... or you just check out my comic #5 and #6!
Yes, the LINEART had it's own style... very nice, too! But colours make it more complete.
About your question:
The background has been REALLY painted black with a black MARKER! A fat EDDING to be more precisely! And since I got some refiller bottle, I can draw with that marker for a LOOONG time!
I only fill such backgrounds with PHOTOSHOP, when I am NOT planning to pin this picture on my wall.... or to frame it. But if I want to put it behind glass frame, I need to have it COMPLETE and full! So, THIS background has been done by marker. ^..^

Ragnarokdragon In reply to ReptileCynrik [2007-01-29 12:48:49 +0000 UTC]

Ah, OK! Thanks! :3

Hmm, well, I still can't help but to feel you used Photoshop SOMEWHERE in the background...the windows?? Not to be rude, but they look like as if you merely used the line tool to make the stained-glass windows, but some of the lines are off and a little pixelated. It probably would have been wiser if you used Adobe Illustrator and created the windows there, then export it to Photoshop. That way, you'll have much cleaner lines. Of course, I don't even know for sure if you DID use Photoshop for the windows!! XD

Anyways, I don't mean to waste your time. So good bye for now!

Yes, the window glow IS Photoshop, indeed!!!!!!!!!!!! But I wrote that in the picture comment.
I did draw the windows per hand, but added the glow later. ^..^

Well what else is there to say: Your texture is among the best I've seen, and Reptiles "clothing" is out of this world; Stylish, yet kicking ass like hes no push over! I think that Kyle should boar something else then looking like a biker though. He is king after all!

Overall nice piece. Too bad we wont see anything else from ya for awhile.

Hehehehe.... thanks. Well, Reptile's clothing (if you can call that CLOTHES) is different this time, because he wears some sort of "gala dress". Only for royal business. I don't think, it'd be good for battle!
Well, and don't be so sad... I will surely keep drawing!!!! ^..^
