Background & Personality:

Codi is a leader both as a compeitive partner and as a herd member. She is 100% the boss and is quite vocal about letting others know. She is know to squeal and make a fuss around dinner time. Even though her squeals and snorts may make her appear difficult to handle, Codi is easy to catch in the field, trailer, bathe and brush. She doesn't have a temper unless claiming her herd spot and she views humans as equals with her. She is protective of her rider and has been known to pin her ears at other horse's passing by when accompanied by her handler. For this reason we recommend a red ribbon as it is uncertain whether she will let a buck out or nip as other horse's.

Codi is reactive and responsive to what she is being asked to work and is easy to manuver under saddle. She has a very goal oriented mindset and flurishes under a reward system. (ie. give her treats please) She has no aversion of obstacles such as bridges, logs, water, creeks, barrels, buckets or puddles. Her scope leads the Verband to believe she would excel in show jumping, but cross country or eventing is not out of dicussion for this mare.

Under saddle Codi's movement is reserved but efficient. She does not waste energy covering ground and though she isn't flashy, she is precise on her leg placement and is selfaware of the ground beneath her. This does mean that she is sensitive to new turfs so letting her adjust before asking her to work is recommended.
