So I have had the pencils for this done for ages... since I won a breeding spot during the April Scavenger Hunt. Hence, Thanatos being drawn hornless - it was back before he became dedicated. Who knows where the traditional image is after all this time (updating and rescanning just isn't gonna happen since I can't find it, and I didn't want to add the horn digitally, since it's drawn in pencil). I finally got around to putting some colors on it last month (when I was home with a bum ankle). I was going to wait and sit on this until I was ready for the foal, and then realized, I can still submit the image now (giving both these beauties some VP's), without sending in my official geno request just yet.Let's just say I have plans for the baby and Thanatos, but I'd like to get a little bit farther in Thanatos story, before introducing the foal. I may not be ready for baby just yet, but I am beyond excited for this foal

Haha, I know the feeling, except that I can't keep myself from getting those lil'ones xD I try very hard not to, but I end up sending the notes and doing the designs, because I just love designing these horses

I know what you mean, the designing of (such adorable) potential ones is fun! And it's really hard not to add a few more beauties to the herd... so very tempting.
I'm hoping to keep my herd manageable - and centered around 4 horses (my 2 starters, my current anomaly foal, and this potential anomaly foal). That alone has a significant amount of storyline/artwork potential.

Hehe, I have so many characters for the storyline that includes my Cavittos and Quirlicorns, but believe it or not, I actually need them all, as they'll be connected somehow. And I don't like concentrating too much on a few characters, because my mind keeps wandering off into new things and lots of ideas, so I need a large cast to make them all work

Whoa! Look at these two
Your lines, as usual, are just so intricate and beautiful. I love the power and strength that just fits into how you drew Thanatos, and Ellastacia 's softer topline with the arched neck is just enough to give her a gentler look. I like the tapering shape of her head and jaw, too.
As for the colouring, Thanatos looks less saturated than usual, but it works for him and it actually seems to make the stars in Ellastacia 's coat that bit sharper. So...while we're on those stars - holy smokes. They're gorgeous! They look realistic and not overdone, but they stand out nicely and in the mane and tail they look just amazing!
Anyway, its great to hear you won the breeding spot, and best of luck with your storyline for the foal!

And thank you. I really had fun with these two. And enjoyed drawing both of them. It delights me to hear that you think I was able to portray Thanatos' power and strength, while managing to make Ella look more feminine.
As for the coloring, I think I have yet to actually color Thanatos the same way twice... which is kinda funny considering he's not really all that complicated. But I agree with you, I think his colors here really help Ella's stardust pattern stand out. Wish I could say I planned that, but we'll just say that it worked out well anyways.
And thanks, I'm super excited for their foal. It will be my 4th Cavitto... which is really where I'm planning on capping my herd (which is already about 3 more than I even dreamed of)... I love each of these guys so much, and want to make sure that I can draw them and do 'right' by them.
Hmmm, maybe I should fall and sprain my other ankle... just to get more drawing time, LOL.

I see you're already well and truly buried in this affliction of HARPG Horse Overload. Its simply too difficult to stop gathering them once you start
(though it must be said that spraining your ankle is possibly a bit too dramatic to--- yep, go ahead and sprain it.Its worth it XD)

Ella is such a gorgeous mare, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do her justice. I worked her star pattern a bit, trying to get the right look. I definitely need to work on the stardust markings. And I know her reference picture has the most lovely Rapunzel-like mane/tail, but then I ran out of paper, and didn't want to give her a crazy long flowing mane and shorter tail. So she ended up with a shorter mane/tail (more average length) than I would have liked to be able to draw for her.
But long mane or no, she's still such a pretty lady... and I am honored to have won a breeding spot to her.
I know I said this already in the note I sent, but I really can't wait until I'm able to introduce their foal, and make that baby a (treasured) part of my herd! It's just that much more incentive for me to keep drawing Cavittos. How can you go wrong with amazing bloodlines like these!?!
