Entry for: Tokotas Weekly Quest
9/6/15 Current quest: --Sad news has spread around Tokotna. Something is clearly wrong with old Nanook . He has taken refuge in a cavern and refuses to come out. Is he ill? Is he injured? Perhaps depressed! Handlers and their tokotas are urged to investigate what's wrong and try and fix it. Draw your tokota and handler caring for him. You may bring him herbs, food or toys to get him to respond.
Rewards for completion: 5+ HP on top of base HP
Asha and Sura have travelled to Nanook's cavern to bring the founding Tokota their very best quality seal-jerky, and pay their respects.
How do you all paint snow & mountains?!? This took me forever - and it still doesn't look like what I envisioned in my head. Not to mention how much work I need on human and canine anatomy (with a big thanks to my dogs for being my RL models - whether they wanted to or not, LOL). But that's okay - I'm just excited to have finished my first piece of Toko art, with my first Toko.

Thank you luv. ♥ It's been a long time since I decided to ignore my chores/errands and sit down and do nothing but work on a piece of art all day long.
It's amazing what a hike with the dogs in the morning, and some raw bones in the afternoon, will buy me in terms of getting to work on art.
There is a lot that I would like to continue to work on (human and canine anatomy at the forefront of that list - followed quickly by learning how to paint backgrounds), but it was really nice to be able to devote that much time to art and getting a quest done. I feel like I've finally, officially started RP'ing my new Toko now.

I was going to start with my Toko as a pup, and then work my way up to my (hopeful) Tribe initiation picture (realizing that would probably take more than enough art time)... but I read the prompt for this week's quest and I simply couldn't resist. Poor Nanook.
And I didn't realize how hard it was to draw canines after drawing only horses for so many years. Toko's is going to be great incentive to get me working on more canine anatomy. Time to bust out the pencil and paper and start doing sketches of my pups in all sorts of positions.
