Description I realized I never actually posted my other main characters for Aura Shift here (see "must keep every oc safe" complex), so YEAH I HAVE SOMETHING TO POST.
Also, feel free to check back Zanarkand's reference in a few minutes. I'll be posting info about him and write a snippet of his backstory as well. It doesn't matter if it's spoilerish at this point, since who the fuck knows when I'll start the actual comic.

Name: Sheila Leonel
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Species: Type C Marashi (german shepherd / lab mix)
Height - 177 cms / 5'8'' human form - 238 cms / 7'8'' Berserk form
Location: Glory City
Aura Colour: Yellow
Aura Tier: 3
Native Power: none
Superpower: Berserk Form
Gemstone: Fire Agate

Personality
Sheila is mostly a reserved person who enjoys spending time by herself as much as she enjoys spending time with others. She's kind natured and nice to whoever she meets, regardless of them being friends, acquaintances or complete strangers.
She's an easily stressed and anxious person who worries way too much about what others may think of her. Fussing over such small things takes a huge toll on her, as she's a tired mess almost the entire time.
She's hardworking and stubborn, with an unbreakable willpower. Despite not being the most courageous person on Earth, her will makes her do things that bravery alone wouldn't make her do.

Backstory
She was born and raised in a loving family of two Type C Marashi, who loved her more than anything else in the world. Her life started in Glory City, in the Historical Sector. She was a quiet and educated kid with a love for studying at the shade of trees in the park. Due to her race, she was often the subject of racist jokes and insults, but she tried not to let them bother her too much.
While in school, she started collecting some money for herself and to help her parents - although they weren't in financial troubles, she still liked to be somewhat independent with her personal shopping time - and so she started offering private lessons to younger kids in mathematics and foreign languages (mainly Italian). She became Noel's friend through her little job, and the two have created an unbreakable bond, much like the one between a sister and a little brother.

At the age of 18 she signed up for college, but dropped out one year later due to stress overload. Seeing it as the biggest failure of her life, she spent the next few months sulking in her own apartment and generally being an emotional mess. Her parents moved out during that time, leaving her with a large apartment that alone she wouldn't be able to fill, so she took in a stray cat as her pet. She remained in contact with her parents, who still call her daily to know how she's doing, and who also still send her money when she needs some financial help.
Remaining alone though was the right incentive for her. She looked for all jobs opportunities in Glory City and soon found a part time job as store clerk in a DogBite clothing shop.

Her life took a drastic turn when she met a nameless man wondering in the streets. Having a grocery bag, she was threatened to be hurt if she didn't give up what she had bought - instead of complying, she offered him to cook him a decent meal and have him have a shower. Intrigued by the offer, the man followed her at home.

Berserk Form
Sheila's Superpower is the most perfect form to describe a Destructive/Active power triggered by a Passive/Defensive trigger. The berserk form is still Sheila in a way, but has a mind of its own, with more primal instincts mainly based on self-survival and protection. Her personality's mostly shut down in this form and the monster's main objective is to protect others by destroying external threats. She's entirely harmless - although scary and threatening - as long as her loved ones or those she projects the need to protect onto aren't endangered.
In this form she's terrifyingly strong, but her movement speed is sacrificed to maximize her destructive power. Don't take her lightly just cause she's slow though - she may be slow with fighting, but she runs fast.
When gone Berserk, her mind is mostly numbed down. She rarely remembers what she does when she transforms. However, her mind can mildly resurface if triggered, for example by hearing the voice of her friends. She'll remain mostly feral, but Sheila's real personality will at least somewhat come back.

Trivia
- Sheila originally had long hair. She cut it short later on.
- She's terrified and also ashamed of her own superpower, so she trains endlessly to control it.
- Acts as a bigger sister to Noel.
- Actually really, truly enjoys and loves Riley's company, but she won't admit it to anyone but him, as most people find him annoying.

Wow isn't she awesome? I find really cool how changed her other form is, and both are great. It makes sense and it's realistic that she acts like that when she's in bersek form. She looks impressive in that form, and cute and the regular one.
So, how did she got the ability of transform into bersek form? Is it related to that man?

Um, the answer to the first question would require me to write a wall of test, so I'll try to keep it simple: every sentient creature in the world of Aura Shift is born with a sleeping power (known as Superpower) that can be triggered through traumatic events, growth and so on. For example, one of my other characters from AS can turn water into ice and freeze the water particles in the air, while another character has superhuman strength. Not everyone triggers their power though, so there are a lot of "commoners" around.

The Superpower is actually coded in the person's DNA from the start, so it's impossible to acquire different powers from what one's born with, unless they're power sponges or Monochromatics (like Zane). Sheila had already written in her genetic code how her power would have manifested if she triggered it. The only question was if, and when she'd trigger it.

As for the second question, let's say that the man (Zane) plays a big part in awakening her power, but I can't say much because SPOILERS ASFFDF

Aaaah I see, that was nicely explained, and I think it's cool that everyone has a sleeping power.
That makes things interesting.
Hehe that's ok, no spoilers!

I think posting reference sheets might be contagious, because I suddenly am reminded of dozens of characters that are floating between existing and non-existing and need some sort of reference sheet...
And it's good to see Sheila's (I always had trouble with writing her name correctly...) face here.

Gosh yeah, I understand you completely. I have SO MANY characters that still need a reference... looking at Riley and Goldwin tbh

Yes it is! She needed to be posted. Tomorrow I'm posting Noel <3

Funny you mention Goldwin, because after reading her backstory I started to wonder whether the two meet on tea parties and discuss the topic of 'I adopted a homeless person: pros and cons'. XD

The spoiler doesn't matter so HERE I GO HOO BOY.
Sheila and Goldwin actually meet the first time thanks to Riley, who wanted her to meet his best friend 4ever and ever. (Sheila and Riley know each other because they attended the same school, although different years). She invited her to get coffee with him one day and took the occasion to show her to his friend, in a "LOOK MAN she was in school with me!! She's a lovable nerd, right?" kinda way. Goldwin at first was of course distant but the two started getting along better as she kept visiting him from time to time - especially when she was looking for a job. Since she had nothing to do at the time, she volunteered to help the Dragon's Crest a few times when he needed help, and so they got more comfortable with each other. It was a slow start friendship but it became a pretty solid one.

Hmm... Does that really qualify as a spoiler? I think the topic of 'how they met' kinda belongs to the backstory, especially if it's nothing that ground-breaking.

You know, you're right. That wasn't a spoiler.
I need to write down all the character ties and possible informations and see what's a spoiler and what isn't, so that at least I know what I can tell and what I shouldn't.

Will you post it at one point? Even without spoilery bits?
I would love to read more about your characters.
Especially about the one that are not the main three.

Yes I will, I just need to write down everything in a sort of scheme thing, organize all character ties, and then write a document about them.
I'll gladly link you to the stash file when it's ready - just let me know if you want the spoilers or not, because depending on your answer I'll write less or a lot, lot more.
