Shot through the barbed wire fence of the Concentration camp just outside of Weimar Germany.My intentions from the outset were to not focus on the actual crematorium but to draw the viewer into the picture, asking questions about what was contained in this image.

as an update, this image has been used on the actual website of the creamtorium for years now.
i will dig up the address.
i had hand printed a small batch of this print from the 6x7 negatives. it still seems superior to todays prints.
