Description holy motha' of GOD. this was months in the making. was getting nostalgic about aoshi and misao and decided to draw them again. it was like dis: [link] for ages and ages until i got the nerve to paint itty bitty strokes for an hour's worth of time every day (when i wasn't deciding to slit my wrists with my tablet pen) until i finally decided to finish it today.

i-i'm so happy it's completed!

plus it's been a while since i'd actually painted something. feel free to critique away since i'm totally rusty and i need fresh eyes to see how badly i've done.

all done in paint tool sai.

Rawr! I've been critiquing for four years straight and man it's been crazy but for you my snookies, I'll do it. And because it's awesome. I love that there is movement all around the piece and that both contrasting sides don't over power each other. I like that Misao has most of the warm colors because that's her personality and Aoshi is so cold. So very cold. Brrr. I did have a problem with Misao's hair because it didn't look fluid but then I never had long hair. The weight of the middle probably makes it that way. Everything else is perfect (figures, anatomy, color, etc.)

Misao is my favorite of the two in this pic because she has so much attitude. Like, "Yeah I'm gonna kick your effing ass. Maybe sex you up after that."

All in all it's pretty rad.

ah, i see what you mean about misao's hair and i'm glad you caught the warm tones i was trying to put down for misao! yay! as i was painting the color background for aoshi, i kept thinking, "malevolent, make it as malevolent as possible, yes, deep purple-blue, malevolent."

haha, i'm afraid there'll definitely be some of those elements in store. i hope there's beautiful scenery shots though; that i'm counting on. oh and flowing hair! glorious flowing red hair blowing in the wind after drawing his sword. oh, melodrama indeed!
