Description This postcard at the National Maritime Museum shows White Star Line steamship RMS Cymric docked at the American port of Boston, Massachusetts.  During World War I, RMS Cymric was converted to a military transport, and was sunk in 1916 by U-20, the same German submarine that sank Cunard liner RMS Lusitania the year before.  As all aboard were British, including the five casualties, the sinking of RMS Cymric did not create the same international controversies as RMS Arabic or RMS Lusitania.
