Bio

As a child, Andy decided to become a Pokemon Breeder rather than a Trainer, as the former option seemed both more interesting and lucrative. Starting with just a couple of Pokemon, ending up with a huge ranch of her own, throughout over forty years she became a respected and reputed professional, breeding tough battlers as well as well-behaved, pretty pets and dependable service Pokemon. However, after a sudden and messy divorce, Andy found herself shattered and unable to stand even looking at the ranch anymore. After selling the land and finding homes for the hundreds of Pokemon in her possession, she had more money and free time than she knew what to do with. For lack of a better idea, she went on to travel, learning how to battle, earning a few Gym Badges and Contest Ribbons -- amusingly, going on something much like the journey most Trainers go through in their youth. A year later, she happened to find out about the Battle Test Series from an advertisement seen on a hotel room TV. Eager to try something new, she picked out a fitting team from her few remaining Pokemon and packed away to the Ohana Islands.

Personality

Andy is a sturdy, no-nonsense, jovial lady. Long years of country life left her hale and hearty even in her older age, and experience with hundreds of closely-known Pokemon and the clients she worked for fine-tuned her empathy and ability to tell somebody's potential at a glance. She can be a bit rough around the edges -- slamming a poor self-conscious girl on the back and bellowing with laughter about both of them being members of the Huge Ass Shortstack Club -- not realizing others may be more sensitive than her. Still, she's a friendly and warm person who just wants everybody to have a good time. She's certainly having the time of her life -- she claims she's enjoying herself having adventures now more than she would have as an ignorant youngster. Age makes good things taste all the sweeter, she says.

Notes:

◊ Obviously, knows a lot about Pokemon breeding, as well as moves, abilities, dietary needs, behavior, biology, etc. This is offset by the fact that she has less experience actually commanding Pokemon in battle than a twelve-year-old.
◊ Is fit for her age (and more than some young people), but tends to overestimate it - moves around like she was still twenty then owowowow, something in my knee cracked.
◊ Can pilot a helicopter. Won't talk about the why.
◊ Doesn't smoke since an adventure with cancer some twenty years ago, but tends to pull out and chew on an unlit pipe when idle or deep in thought.
◊ Needs reading glasses .
◊ Born and grew up in Sinnoh, but lived in Kanto most of her life (hence the hometown). Her ranch was north of Celadon City.
◊ Prefers to bike over riding Hildebert for the sake of keeping fit - will probably spend most of her free time in Ohana doing just that.
◊ The bolo tie has a Pokeball clip. Most often, it'll have Hildebert's Luxury Ball, but she does swap them out. During events in which a certain 'mon is used you can expect them to be there.
◊ The Pokeball holder is a standard leg holster, attached to the belt, with another strap around the thigh.

Connections:

Casper "Kazza" Lethe - years ago, Andy's ranch provided a custom-bred-and-trained and now-retired service Pokemon, Ludo, for the physically weak Casper. Hildebert is Ludo's proud father.

With flawless abilities, temperament and looks, Hildebert was Andy's prime stud who fathered and raised countless descendants, always hanging around the hatchery to look over the Eggs and keep them warm with his flames. He's a friendly, calm guy, a bit confused by the drastic changes in his life, but taking them with stoic, fearless patience. He may not be very good with the whole independent thought thing, but who needs smarts when you've got a Trainer?

Notes: The bridle isn't used, as Andy rides all her Pokemon without reins or saddles. It's mostly just decorative at this point.
Can control the heat and light given off by his fire, so he's not burning to the touch or blinding to look at. Unless he wants to be.

Tackle/Poison Sting/String Shot/Bug Bite

This Ohana native was captured especially for the purpose of filling the Egg slot. An average Wurmple in every way, he would likely have ended a short life in the mouth of a predator, like so many others. Now that he's been given a chance, he's very determined to show the world what he's really got. With support from Andy and her other Pokemon, he has gained enough confidence and battle zest to learn Bug Bite, but he's still a little nervous around carnivorous Pokemon and those big enough to step on him.

Defog/Aerial Ace/Scald/Feather Dance

Not having any Pokemon capable of carrying her in flight, Andy traded for Gala with a fellow Breeder, who mostly breeds water Pokemon for decorating rich people's garden ponds and private lakes. Gala couldn't be any happier to avoid that fate, as she loves nothing more than adventure and the open skies and waters. She sometimes gets distracted by all the shiny, new things around her, but more than makes up for it with sheer enthusiasm, expressed with frantic wing flapping and loud honking.

Notes: Andy chose her for her wingspan, and it is an impressive foot bigger than the average.

Leech Seed/Confuse Ray/Curse/Horn Leech

Andy's first Pokemon and inseparable companion. A shy sort who keeps his distance from other Pokemon, preferring the company of humans. He never says much, though. Most of the time, Jango just hovers around his Trainer like a satellite, or lays somewhere on the floor, finding it ceaselessly amusing when people trip over him. It's his way of saying hello.

Notes: The stump is both part of his body and isn't. It's separate from his ghostly form and he could take it off if he wanted to, but he does feel it being touched or damaged and can move it to some degree. The branches emote as ears would... perking up or falling back, etc.

Bite/Take Down/Surf/Swagger

Rejected from the pet Furfrou breeding line for being too aggressive and unpredictable. She's been known to push battles too far, leaving scars and having to be recalled into her Ball to prevent her mauling a fainted opponent. Hence the swimming duty -- her trainer hopes that with less pent-up energy, Whisky will chill out a little bit. It hasn't been working too well so far, but there are few options left for this Pokemon. She doesn't exactly like humans, but she tolerates them; best not try to pet her, though.

Notes: When out of her Ball, she'll be leashed for the safety of other Pokemon, even when surfing.
Is missing lower right canine, broken in a fight with a Magnemite.

Dizzy Punch/Toxic/Protect/Safeguard

A Parent Pokemon true to her name, Lori used to take care of all the young ones running around the ranch, making sure they're safe and breaking up scuffles. She participates in battles only begrudgingly, too opposed to hurting others to put her heart into it. Her baby, Lyra, is quite the opposite; a feisty little thing, squeakily cheering on her mom from the pouch during every fight. Lori has been working with Andy for a long time now and the two can communicate without a word.

Notes: Somewhat skinny, built more for speed and evasiveness than bulkiness.
Lyra usually has her nails painted - she saw Andy paint hers once and demanded the same. It's always random colors and chipped around the edges.
