Aand the first stretch of the journey is done! Looks like they're having fun~

I didn't do any cameos in the latter panels, because I wasn't sure who else would zzoom right to the lead... and keep up with a Rapidash at full tilt. They're going to take it slow on to the Soul Point to rest, so others will catch up gradually.

I accidentally sprinkled a few drops of water on the paper and it got all wrinkly It was so hard to draw the lines straight ugh. Not using thin paper again.

I'm really pushing myself with these! Not just art-skill wise (lemme tell you, all these horse anatomays, foreshortening and backgrounds gave me a headache) but also when it comes to letting go. Going with acceptable art quality and pushing on rather than fiddling and redrawing endlessly is hard. But I don't have the time- I'm leaving for holidays five days after the deadline, so that's a secondary deadline I just can not miss.

The third panel was a great idea on paper, but on uh, physical, literal paper, it was just too tiny to draw well. Another lesson learned...

This time photo made with soft pastels! First time I'd used them since elementary school... Since details were harder to do than I'd expected, I outlined it with pencil- and I kinda like the look.
