They are just hidden under his hard forewings. In the show, you can see that they have 2 pairs of wings, just like beetles ^^

That bright colors could probably be them at full power kinda like how the crystal ponies shine when the heart is at its peak.

What people need is more exposure. It's hard to like, if not tolerate something with no context. Once we see them a lot more in S7 more people will calm down about it.

They're essentially fairies now, that's pretty neat, imo. They should have some rare magic power now, like the flutterponies from G1. That'd be cool, I think.
