Hey everyone, this was a sketch I did a few days back when I was listening to the song Seven Devils By Florence and the Machine and I was inspired to draw something based off of it~ The singer in the picture is Florence Welch herself, and the seven devils are not the ones everyone is familiar with (i.e. sloth, gluttony, lust, etc). These seven devils I based off of my own devils that I am familiar with from some points of my life. Their names are Sorrow, Agony, Hatred, Indignation, Desolation, Fear, and Misery. I had a lot of fun listening to the music and drawing from it
Hope everyone else likes this little doodle I've drawn in my sketchbook~Time it took to draw this is between 6-8 hours. Most of that time went to the inking phase (I don't have an ink brush

Hey, I bet it was cool~ Your large India ink drawing must have looked so beautiful. You know the feeling you get when you see the black and white contrast on paper, especially when you were working on it for so long and you hold it up to yourself as you admire the fact that you completed it.

It is a really epic feeling! I'm not quite sure what is so pleasing about a clean black and white image, be it the high contrast or all the time spent on it. Probably a bit of both. A single accent color added though can really change up the feeling, and give it that much more personalty I think!

Yeah I agree, that it's a bit of both with the high contrast and the time spent on the picture makes it look incredible. But you are correct, having 1 other color in the picture helps to bring in the focus around the areas where that color is laid down which can help makes the picture more interesting than a regular black and white contrast picture. However, I also believe that it depends on what is drawn on the picture. If the black and white contrast has a better concept and drawing on it than the one contrast pic that has 1 extra color in it, then it'll get more attention than the other picture. I guess it's to each's own with the audience members tastes.
All the while though, I do agree with you~

Excellent point, some drawings are best left monochromatic, I think the mood of the images calls for different things.
