Description This is a revisit to an old drawing I did 4 years ago ([link] ) and one of my most popular from the time, though the reason still eludes me, it wasn’t even finished. So I breathed new life into the old concept and this was born.

I went a little overboard with everything on this piece and I found a way to finally use my white gel pen more effectively with adding highlights. I really like the end result.

My scanner didn’t want to scan the picture properly, so I had to take a photo with my not so good camera instead. I'll probably try to take a better one tomorrow, preferably without a glare. A photo seems to do a drawing better justice then a scanner. I might have to use a camera more often/ learn the correct way to use one.

Hope you all enjoy.

Mechanical and Colored Pencils along with Black Felt Pen and White Gel Pen on Parchment Paper.

Kinda looks like Lithuania from Hetalia as an Anthro Wolf.

Even though the old one looked good, this one seems a bit more...shall I say...realistic. Only due to your advancement in drawing skill since 4 years ago. And I think the camera didn't make it look too bad.

I like it alot because it gives it more depth but the muzzle look a little more narrow in this one that in the other one but then again that could be because of the glare or my eyes playing tricks on me.

this version is over all better but i think i liked how the other one had the wolf looking more downward toward his sword, and it looked like he was more happy, but great job!

They had probably just slain something and, to me, that would be a good reason not to look at the blade with a happiness.

honestly, as to why your piece might have been your viewer's favorite... Well... I can honestly say I don't know... At first, I thought it was because normally you do action shots, but, after remembering what I know about your work, that isn't the case. Then I thought it was because normally people in general do action shots, and this one just happened to accidentally get notice a lot as not being the same. Again, this isn't really true.

Perhaps it is just something that they could tell you put in a lot of work on?

I mean, when I look at your finished products, it gives me the impression that you are pretty dang skilled and just whip these out in your spare and bored time. You are incredibly talented and your works turn out very nice and never seem to have an imperfection... The older piece, however... It showed you were human and where you started... Perhaps that is why?

Otherwise, I have no clue.

Very nicely done. The new color adds a serious depth to the picture. Hopefully next year I can start learning at your paws, on how to draw better.

Anymore I'm one of those who prefers graphite, over paint, or even digital. (Although I must admit, the photorealistic digitals of furs is astonishing) The graphite adds something I can't quite put my finger on. The closest I can say, is how LPs vs CDs sound. LPs have a 'depth' because of the nature of the media, while CDs is 'perfect' As a audiophile, I notice that. I'm thinking that's what I'm seeing with graphite art. Odd, but your works appeals to me in many ways

Thank you.

I too love Graphite and all other traditional mediums far more then anything digital. You put the two side by side and I could tell right away which was which. I would have to say, that to me it’s the earthy or natural feel art created by traditional mediums seem to emanate. There is nothing like recreating nature with materials born from nature herself. Another good analogy would be; music created within a program or something totally mechanical like techno rather then music created by an actual instrument, the program created music is just so unnatural sounding or there’s an eerily perfect feel to it.

Creating life with life in my opinion gives your art a meaning, a soul. While making a statement and preserving that which would otherwise be lost; the mother mediums which gave birth to art itself in the beginning of time.

You have a unique and special way of seeing the world. It feels like a medieval way, and I support that. I, at times feel like a time-traveler stuck in the wrong era at times.

It's a very vibrant piece now, and the depth is portrayed well. I feel that the leg resting on the ground (and the ground itself) may be at too sharp of an angle with regards to the tree. Not too sure on that though.

Thank you.

Simply put, my camera and I failed at taking the photo and that’s mainly the problem I think. Ended up with the top of the picture sort of closer to the view finder kind of like when you look down at an angle at a picture, and it was also a bit crooked. But you can’t see any of that here because I cropped it.

I don’t have the correct tools to be doing this, like a camera mount, correct lighting, and a proper camera and how costly all those things are, I sadly probably never will. Might try to build a camera mount myself but, I don’t know.

As always the actual drawing itself looks far better then their scanned and even more so the photographed counterparts. A camera seems to catch and recreate the colors far better then the scans, so for that reason I like them. In the end its one of those things that I don’t yet know how to do correctly and have no one to tell me how too or point out what I’m doing wrong. Perhaps one day, through trial and error I’ll figure it out.
