First of all, let me say a big congratulations on making this into the Daily Deviations! It definitely deserves it, this is such a beautiful image.. I find myself drawn into her eyes and her expression.. she seems to be gazing up at something so terrible and wonderful at the same time that she can't look away..
Sort of reminds me of the Little Mermaid, although I'm not sure I would have made that connection if this wasn't a mermaid image..
I must say that my favourite part of this image is the colours you used, and the fact that her skin has splotches of blue and green - I find that so beautiful and intriguing, I love this picture over and over again.
It's times like these that I wish I wasn't flat broke - I would buy this print in an instant.
I'm sure you have a TON of comments, so I don't really expect a reply - I just wanted to congratulate you on such a brilliant piece of art.

Hey, I just wanted to really thank you, that was really nice to read, it was really a rush to have so many people view a piece of my art. Thanks for taking the time to eplain your feelings on the piece, I'm totally broke too, I geuss that is part of being an artist. However, I do have some things that are starting to work themselves out and I dont think I will be poor for long. Thanks agian.

There are many good artists on DA, but certainly put most of them in the "average" catagory with this amazing work of art!!!

Traditional art is being used , mostly, for use in Photoshop and the likes... The final product of that (if the user is experienced in PS) is generally very good, but There's no way anyone can get this amount of detail and precision with digital!

Gotta get +Fav

From what I could see in that tiny thumbnail, I thought it was some sort of psyched out photograph. Turns out it some psyched out painting. Nicely done! I love the pairing of blue and green, a combination we see all too little. And of course, good job on nailing a daily dev, very worthy!

beautiful. i like the way she seems cold with all that blue on her skin. you used a mix of blue and red on her skin... quite an unusual approach but it works. if i had to criticise, i would point out the nose, and the overly rounded fingers on her lower hand. other than that its gorgeous, has wonderful detail and is most definately a +fav.

What brought me to look at this is the colors, then the abstract form of movement for the background, and the piece focal point drew me in since it has a different color than that of the rest. When I full view I first made contact to her eyes, she has a lovely eyes, rather sad, but lovely nonetheless. Like a pair of those I saw in many girls, as their eyes are like of hazel where it is hard to know what they are looking at, in making contact with it brings blissfulness in the spine. Her eyes are like those of dead fish, which is very rare, in terms of dead is not a bad thing but rather mysterious, as I can’t get enough in staring into it, with the protective layer it contain a spot in the head that creates that focal point for me to see. Then there I move on to her mouth, with full lips, un-kissed, and white teeth. For the face I sense a nice bone structure where she could be one of those models that qualify for such beauty, and how you drew her in a position that express embrace, or resting while viewing something to be in the comfortable state of alertness and frozen at the same time.

The hair blends in nicely with the background, it moves, making me to move, with the water seaweed or those could be waves itself. The small reflection of colors in orange and brown in her hair, giving volume and shape. The bubbles containing words that will never be heard by man, echoes in the ocean, I think the bubbles could be more realistic in its existence, here I think you made them stylized an idealistic bubbles, but not in realistic terms. To top it off you have the details for the rocks, that are close to the surface, it seems. Great highlights and textures, with small grass stems growing in betweens. Keep up the good work, you got style, and certainly you know the basics well.

Much applause for getting a daily deviation on this image. It was very well deserved. It's a blessing to see real media being used, especially paint because it can be so tricky to master. The colors in this image are just wonderful. There's so much texture for the eye to take in, while the image has a very soft and definite watery look to it all at the same time.

Just so very beautiful. Well done.

This is what I want to be able to do someday - this kind of painting is just amazing, I have to say - the different colored shadows and highlights, the hues in the background... it's obvious you put a lot of work into this. I wish I knew what kind of paint you used, though.

Anyway - this is definitely going in my favorites!
