Description
For the Gods and Demon month I decided to do a fan art of Devil May Cry and draw Dante! Well... prob not the Dante you were looking for. :I Also experimented with doing more stylised coloring and rough painting, Im liking it so far <3Anyway the game looks sick and I might give it a go
The only DMC game I have every finished was DMC2... I know, Im not really a massive DMC fan but the new Dante kinda got me interested again.Also thanks to who helped me draw Dante's face. It looks SO much better now. I failed at drawing noses but thank god Noisykid was here to give me a hand. She draws nice faces, go check out her stuff

The only legacy being passed on is that Devil May Cry has now officially joined Megaman,Dino Crisis,Onimusha,Darkstalkers,Rival Schools and a bunch of others IPs of Capcom in the graveyard. So well done Capcom. You killed yet another promising series of yours. Now all they have left is Monster Hunter and Ace Attorney series that have yet to be ruined.
So yes the game does not only look sick but plays as such. By that I mean it is completely awful on all fronts.

So it seems that once again Crapcom wants the Devil May Cry fans to choose between the original and Wuboot. DmC Devil May Cry Apology Edition is coming out for the Xbone One and PS4 next year on March 17 while Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is due next summer again for the Xbone One and PS4 with Vergil being added.

I recently finished the game. Dante gets white hair in the re-boot--permanently. So perhaps in a future installment, he'll start looking like the old one again.

The New DmC takes a crap on the legacy of the franchise and buying that game is no better then supporting racism.

The people making the game have made multiple racist remarks while trying to defend this game. It all boil down to the idea that the Japanese are incapable of doing anything deep or meaningful and nothing they do will ever real satisfy our complex Western pallets. Their the ones that played the racist card not us.

You're just assuming that's what they're saying, they never said that the Japanese cannot make a deep, meaningful game, its just that the original DMC series lacked deep story lines and characters, which it did. They weren't being racist, and for you to bring racism into this DMC vs DmC discussion is just pathetic.

But that's not what they said. When Alex said that "Japanese style ethos does tend to involve make characters look cool for the sake of looking cool, adding odd accessories, crazy hairstyles and colour, cowboy boots and so on simply because they look cool.
"We in the West tend to be more functional adding things that have meaning and being able to explain that meaning. Why does Dante have white hair? I want to make a little story around that and explain it. And so on for the rest of his design choices."
He was talking about all Japanese not just DMC. When Ninja Theory talked about how the East is the Land of Anime they were talking about all of Japan not just DMC.
One more thing, one of the big complaints about DMC4 is that it didn't have as deep story as DMC3 and that the new characters weren't as flushed out as others were.

But what he said is kinda true, its not being racist, its just stating a fact Japanese styles in animation, games and films tend to be more flamboyant than western designs, i mean common they tried to make Dante more western in DMC4 and they gave him leather cowboy chaps...which was a mistake in my opinion. He doesn't mean all the time but imply that a lot of the time Japanese use design styles for the sake of it. Also yes the characters in DMC4 went as fleshed out as other but then, most of the characters in the DMC games went really well developed, which was a weak point in the games, but don't get me wrong they had brilliant combat and good atmosphere in the first game.

That's BS, there's really no difference in how often characters are designed with thought put into them no matter where you go on this planet. To say other wise is arrogant and wrong.
A lot of thought is put into DMC characters. Even the colors they wear have meaning.

I never said it was just in japan, but they do go for more flamboyant, colorful looks than other countries, going back to the original point, saying that if you support NT you support racism is just ridiculous and looks like your overreacting a lot, they are simply saying that they want to put more depth into why Dante looks the way he does,to create a deeper more complex character.

But that's exactly what they were saying as they did it more then once. I don't see how anyone could say that Japanese characters tend to be more flamboyant then Judge Dredd or anything form Warhammer 40000, which are both English. Hell, Superman and Batman were both flamboyant when they came out and still are it's just that people are used to their designs.
They can't put more depth to the design Dante or Vergil as there was already symbolism at work. What they've done ruins the whole idea in the first place and if Ninja Theory card abut DMC or story telling like they say they do then they wouldn't have ever done that. They aren't trying to expand the characters, they're trying to replace them with watered down versions that have to explain everything to you. Look at the Vegil in the original, he wasn't evil just selfish extremist that secretly wanted to prove himself to his mother. Now compare that to New Vergil, here's a character that's blatantly a bad guy and has extremely shallow reasons for being bad. Here's the reason why New Verilg is evil, because Ninja Theory picked up on the fact that Vergil wanted power but failed to understand why he wanted it in the first place.
And yes you did say that about the Japanese by agreeing whole heartily with Ninja Theory and Alex Jones because that's exactly what they're saying.

Wait, what?! Warhammer isnt flamboyant, its very dark and gothic, just shows how much you know on the subject lol. Oh and to accuse NT of being racist for saying that Japanese designs are more colourful and flamboyant than western designs is just silly, you might as well call them terrorists, again i see the problem with people thinking the old game were much better than they really were, i grew up with them and enjoyed them but i can admit that the characters were not that well developed, Dante never really changed much and fluctuated between moody and silent to plain out frat-boy and never really grew or gained anything, Vergil had his underlining motive, but were never properly explored in the game and ultimately made him feel flat and unoriginal. Lady had some good story and motive but the rest of the female cast were either pointless or just walking silicon implants.

Nice pic, but trust me dude, this game is NOT gonna be good. I played the demo myself at Comic Con, and it's a complete downgrade from the gameplay in DMC3/4 in terms of combat mechanics and difficulty. They make the combos incredibly boring and the difficulty is WAY too easy. Here's an example:

If anything, I recommend that you instead buy Devil May Cry HD Collection and play DMC3, which many agree is the best in the series.

I doubt that much will change man. The game is already in its final stages of development, where all they're really doing is bug testing, marketing, and getting licencing it for distribution. Really the main reason why so many fans of the classic DMC series are so pissed off with the new game isn't simply because of Dante's design, but the fact that Ninja Theory (a development studio that has only made games with bad to mediocre ratings) is behind such a project. Trust me man. I REALLY wouldn't be that optimistic about this game. What I WOULD be optimistic about though is Metal Gear Rising. It's a spinoff from the Metal Gear Solid series and is being handled by both Konami and Platinum Games (PG was founded by Hideki Kamiya, the original creator of Devil May Cry, and has already made Bayonetta, an amazing action game). Metal Gear Rising comes out around the same time DmC does, but I can assure you that it will be infinitely better: [link]

OMG I am a long time Metal Gear Solid fan and I think Im the opposite. I am not optimistic about Metal Gear Rising.... Cos it seems way too action packed and the fight style is very different from MGS series... with combo meter and over the top action. I don't even wanna be raiden.. i just wanna be a dude sneaking around... The plot wouldnt affect the MGS storyline either so its not like I can play the game just to get the story.. ahhh i dunno TvT"

Yeah, I'm not expecting much in terms of story, but they already confirmed that it's just a spinoff and that it won't affect the storyline of Metal Gear Solid. Honestly, I would only be pissed off if it was Snake who was the one doing all that crazy stuff. Seeing Raiden in MGS4 do that stuff, it makes sense, and the developers from Platinum Games know what they're doing in terms of gameplay mechanics. It's not a game meant for story so much as gameplay. In fact, I'm pretty sure Kojima is planning on making MGS5 with story and gameplay that stays true to the series. Hell I wouldn't mind a remake of the original 2D Metal Gear games with MGS4 gameplay. What DOES look promising is the fact that Kojima is working on a third Zone of the Enders game, as well as the upcoming HD Collection of ZOE:

The idea behind DmC is good, but no. If the people, names and stuff were different, then I would gladly try it.
I will never accept DmC into the family of the numbered DMC family.
Capcom needs to redo the whole series anyways, the timelines are so wonky and confusing that trying to make sense of everything in the possible DMC5 is going to be SO hard and even more confusing than it already is.
Capcom, just stop fooling around and set things straight. You messed up with DMC2 already, don't do the mistake again.
Seriously, if I had the power to redo the games myself, they would make so much sense and people sould totally love them.
I've been 'analyzing' the games and the timeline and everything for so long that I should get paid for it!

Well they already confirmed the chronology of the games. It's 3, then 1, then 4, then 2. Capcom did say in an interview that "We like to pretend that DMC2 never happened", lol.

I know the timeline, but it is still messed up and there are so many holes (not plotholes) and just ugh.
Also Nero cannot be Vergil's son because if he was, he would have to be 10-12 years old in DMC4 since Vergil is 18-20 in DMC3 and jesus christ the timelines are shittyyyy ugh.
