Hey there - I love all your Eol & Aredhel work. Actually I love all your pieces, full stop
I wrote a fanfic about Eol & Aredhel that you might enjoy - it's the backstory as to how the two elves met and brings us up to Maeglin's conception. archiveofourown.org/works/5708…
Those of us who love and create content around this story (your painting, my writing) are a rare, rare community! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pieces

Thank you so much dear friend for your comment! I'm really glad to meet people whit the same love for Tolkien, and specially for Aredhel storyline! Only a few Tolkien fans consider this storyline one of the most beautiful from the Silmarillion, but this is my case! It's both tragic and both epic, and the Fall of Gondolin so powerful... Surely, I will read your fanfic...

Oh that's so lovely - thank you. It really doesn't get much attention because so few people search out 'Eol' on AOOO! I think I love the Aredhel story because it's messy. Tolkien's elves were so perfect and for the most part, so were their romances. But Eol & Aredhel have more humanity. They love, they act like idiots at times, they make bad choices, they commit crimes of passion (at least he did) and it all ends in tears and regret that Maeglin didn't spend enough time with his therapist. There are so many layers to the story, and love (healthy or not) is infused through every one. That's why I wrote about them. They are interesting because of their faults. I think there is beauty in honest imperfection - and you capture those layers that in your work.

Another beautiful piece. I love here how you show the closeness between mother and son, and how in contrast Eol is the scary outsider. He already looks pretty jealous and homicidal, and that pick in his hand looks... dangerous. As dangerous as a javelin. You did great work on Eol's intense eyes. They look pretty feral! And Maeglin... Maeglin looks like such a sweet boy!

Thank you again!! This is one of that works of mine I wish to repaint from the beginning! First of all I don't like the colors. It's a little bit complicated for me to choose the right intensity and the light in Ps. Digital is wonderful, but the final effect is out of my control for now. I have to reach new point with this ^.^

might be fun to know; in my Warg Rider AU stories, Eöl is a Avari Elf from the so called Avari Metal Clan (named so for their skilled blacksmiths) and he is one of the few survivors to escape from a attack where Sauron and the orcs from Angband either killed or enslaved the Metal clan. Then, as now orphaned Elfling, he was taken in as a foster son by a childless Dwarf couple to explain his close ties to the Dwarves

He was originally a Sinda, though in later canon writings Tolkien decided that he was an Avari, who dwelled in Sinda lands with Thingol's permission.

yeah, but that can also allow us fanfic writers to choose

True. Fans are also still choosing between the two versions of Gil-Galad being in the house of Fingolfin (son of Fingon) or the house of Finarfin (son of Orodreth).

Anyway, the sword Anglachel was the payment for letting Eöl stay in Doriath.

Yes

well, I have Gil-Galad as a son of Fingon and a Rilel, a Teleri lady from Cirdan's people, (I gave him her brown hair to better explain why he was a brunette in the movie!) and since Gil-Galad was underage at Fingon's death, Turgon became High King during the wait for his nephew to come of age

Wow, it could be possible, even if Tolkien told us that he was a Teleri elf...  Metal Clan is funny !

well, he could have both a Teleri and a Avari parent
