Experimenting with the notion of using ready made objects to create... I'm back to using black again, I must say that it is my color of choice.It was an absolute pleasure to make!
Acrylic painting on 16x20" / 40x50 cm stretched canvas.

Warm and cold colors used in such a homogeneous way that they create a harmonious movement and the black of the lines helps the observer not to get lost in the colors.

the boldness of the shapes and splatters,
the softness and vibrancy of the background-

Oh, now this is my very favorite of your work. Β (So far, at least) Β I love the balance of color, cooler on top and warmer on the bottom. Β The little details, the orange squares towards the bottom left, the splotchy blue on bottom center that reminds me of animal skin, the way the circles seem like little 3-d bubbles laid over the image... Β There's so much to see, but it works so well as a single cohesive painting. Β Really wish I could afford a nice big canvas print of this. Β Truly amazing, one of my favorite abstracts I've ever seen.

So, maybe try one where you stop JUST before you start adding the black. You don't need it!

Maybe I don't need it, but I want it... plus if I'd stop right before I added it, it would only be a thin layer of color for the background =]
I get the idea that an artist can get stuck on some element and overuse it, and I agree that to some extant it is true about me... But there is also the notion of creating what you want...
Not trying to get defensive or anything, I just wonder.. How you would react to someone telling you to stop doing something that you like/love?
Black isn't everyone's favorite color... But for me, that is the only element that helps deal with the other colors, since naturally I avoid colors in my daily life... I don't know if my explanation makes any sense, but that is how I see it =x
