I was practicing EYES.
I like eyes.
Eyes are cool, they're like skin and glass. <3 I want to get better at drawing eyes because I have a set image in my head about what my eye drawings should be like, and I always leave out the bottom lid.
I also always make it excessively dark.
Oops.
Materials:
Compressed Charcoal Stick, kneaded eraser, gum eraser, my fingaaaaars.

Well, I've never written a critique before so here goes nothing...
First off, I want to say I really love it! One thing that is especially striking is the feeling behind it - I'm always in awe of how much emotion eyes by themselves can give off and I think you have a real knack for capturing that. There's something very mysterious about that thoughtful, direct gaze.

In terms of improvements, I think you could work more into the tones around the eye, such as the corner and the top lid where it would be darkest. However it's also important not to over-do it because it would be a shame to distract from the very striking, bold lines that frame the iris and make it the central focus. first off I would like to say that I love your avatar! and who doesn't like eyes? they're fun to draw!
the way you did this eye really makes the eyelashes stand out! it looks amazing, but in the perspective I see it, I think the eyelashes should've been thinner and closer together.
I love the "Flare" style in the eye! it really stregthens your picture alot! really beautiful job with the shading! really, the shading just adds what I call, the whipped cream on the cake!
I look up to this drawing very much! your style and determination of practicing something like this is unforgetable! definetly a great piece of artwork, and also a great artist!

This is great! I think the shading, especially around the lower eyelid, is very well done, and the darkness of the lashes means that they look nice and thick. The pupil could be a bit rounder, perhaps, and I think the top lashes need work - they need to be more fanned out towards the left side of the picture. I'm assuming that the right side of the image is where the eye is closest to the nose though... is that right? :/
Anyway, keep up the good work!
