Description For

January task for PMD-E. Master Shao needs help remembering some moves. So Anther shows him his best Horn Leech.

My current interpretation as to what Horn Leech looks like.

Pokemon belongs to Nintendo/Gamefreak
Art and Anther belongs to me.

Omai...better watch those antlers, Deer Boy. That one prong in particular looks like it could very well be sharp enough to poke holes in that target, let alone...well. WELL I GUESS maybe the leaves could help to buffer that risk some. And, uh, hey! Energy drain! And sparklies! (Dare I say it? Looks like THIS dude... ...sunk a few talent points into his SPARKSmanship tree-- )

Out of curiosity, why the numbers tacked onto the targets? Are they maybe tracking impact points or something?

Haha, well the leaves could act as a buffer perhaps. But that would just mean that Anther is lethal in his winter form! (=<

*bops you on the head for being so punny*

Oh, those numbers are inspired from punching bags at my karate school. The numbers serve as targets for various punches, jabs and kicks. They are useful for drills, because sometimes when we do combination drills, our instructor will assign a move to a number, and then all he needs to do is call out those numbers and we hit those targets.

Talk about badass! That's an awesome way to portray Horn Leech!

But I wonder if he can actually recover health from a training dummy?

Each punching bag has a substitute doll in it... maybe...?

lol, I dunno. What I can say is I don't think Anther is getting much, if any, energy out of it. That and I really wasn't considering that when I was drawing it.

Well, as long as it aesthetically demonstrates the move, I suppose Master Shao will be satisfied? x3

Yes, yes indeed. And Master Shao will then remember how to use Horn Leech... somehow... Mimic works in very strange ways (as well as this new magic paint). O_O

Wow. If a punching bag can go from being that cylindrical shape to a pancake, I pity any unlucky mons that get in the way of a horn leech attack like that! I wonder why they have all those numbers on them?

Oh, I drew inspiration from the punching bags in my karate school. Ther have 9 circles on them, each labeled with a number. They are supposed to serve as targets for various punches and kicks.

Anther was not aiming for them, though. Otherwise... his aim is so bad here it is embarrassing. XD

When I took karate, the punching bags we had didn't have numbers on them. We had a person shaped one such as this one. [link] We also had wavemaster brand punching bags, and while looking them up I found pictures of those punching bags with numbers on them.

We got a punching bag exactly like that too! I have never used it much, though. I don't think it gets a lot of use in our dojo. Which is strange, because I would think that it would be helpful for accuracy.

Haha. I totally should have put a pair of eyes on the sandbag! XD

The way the bag is hit does remind me of Smashbros, now that I think about it!

The dojo is going to need some new punching bags if Anther keeps that up!

Haha! I'm sure these bags get plenty of punishment, though. But this probably is some of the stronger hits they have taken.

Wow, cool! I like this interpretation of Horn Leech. Just as much as what the anime showed it!

I'd need to check that out to refresh my memory. Pretty much for me it is absorb + antlers in your face!

DecibelCoatl In reply to Sanngot [2013-02-10 00:09:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, Bulbapedia describes it as "a physical version of Giga Drain". I mean, Horn Leech pretty much as nearly the same statistics as Giga Drain.

Sanngot In reply to DecibelCoatl [2013-02-10 05:11:49 +0000 UTC]

Is that so? I actually never looked it up on Bulbapedia. That is pretty cool!

Ah right, you have one of those special moves that fit the requirements so you can complete the task!

The only Pokemon with a move that fits the criteria is Ralts (with Confuse Ray), and she's still stuck in the past...

Sanngot In reply to Galactic-Rainbow [2013-02-09 22:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Really??? And you have quite a few characters as well! Man that is some tough luck. =S

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to Sanngot [2013-02-09 22:31:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! That many characters...guess I haven't really been interested in such status or life-draining moves.

Then again, considering how I'm not doing PMD-E as much anymore, I'm not really missing much.

Sanngot In reply to Galactic-Rainbow [2013-02-10 05:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Ah... the PMD-E fading away. Allowing for new members to rise in their places and the cycle of the guilds to continue anew.

... I was trying to sound poetic there but I guess I failed.

You gotta do what you gotta do. And I wish you luck while you are doing it.

Mostly due to IRL issues, honestly. Gotta focus on other things and stuff.

Good luck with anything you're going to do in the future, too!

Sanngot In reply to Galactic-Rainbow [2013-02-11 02:37:19 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that is understandable. And also probably the responsible thing to do as well. I'm in university and I can barely manage 1 team. >_<

And thank you!

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to Sanngot [2013-02-11 02:38:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh gosh, me too! >_< And I'm only in college; university must be so much tougher.

You're welcome!

I manage. Though admittedly things get pretty tight. Especially this year. I'm in my fourth year. And it comes with very high expectations. =_=;

That's your interpretation of Horn Leech, eh? Impressive!

Sanngot In reply to Tayzonrai [2013-02-09 22:09:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I guess it is kinda like absorb in a way, except you are getting a face full of antlers as well. ^^

Tayzonrai In reply to Sanngot [2013-02-10 00:23:40 +0000 UTC]

Sounds painful. Enemies better be on the lookout for him!

A prime example is the way Slate (the Kabutops who was one of the Antagonists in my mission 7) ended up after receiving some A face full of antlers!
