Description

The feeding habits of the Necroviscera are so unique, and extended to so many different groups that it became the main characteristic of an entire clade within the Capillozoa phylum. Their morphology can vary greatly, as starfish forms, human hand-like body, worm-like, presence or lacking of tubular antennae-like noses, etc., while maintaining its symbiotic relationship with the Rubrilopanis (Rubrilopanis representing various groups of microorganisms and its variants).

A lot of speculation is brought up on why Necroviscera has evolved this kind of symbiosis with the Rubrilopanis instead of feeding directly on the carcasses. Some ideas are that the nutrient cost-efficiency of farming Rubrilopanis outdoes the direct feeding. Others say that the use of the toxins inherited by the Necroviscera (that act as protection from predation in most cases) is the most likely reason.

Nonetheless, Necroviscera is a fascinating and rich group composed by scavengers and predators alike that populates most bodies of water on Anu .
