Description "Thought Sponge"

CLASS: MISTAKE

A worthless by-product of monster creation. This blind, deaf monster rarely moves on its awkward, rigid limbs, preferring to remain in place and feed harmlessly on stray psionic energy.

Oh man. I'd completely forgotten about the hallucigenia fossil until I saw this. Your gallery is amazing.

Hallucigenia was just asking to be made into a fantasy monster. I find those wiggly arms oddly unsettling.

All the mistake monsters can be born with good powers in rare, freak mutations

it's like having an awesome poke'mon that even at level 100 will never amount to being useful in a battle (dunsparce). oh the humanity.
after playing poxnora for a while i thought of an interesting idea for a game. a game where every character/creature is uber. balanced but to the extreme. of course others are stronger in other areas and weaker in some, but you know what i mean. no need to only pick strong characters, only the ones you want, cause they'll all be valuable in different strategies. then it's the player who is weak or strong not there selected characters/creatures.

That's a big part of the idea of Mortasheen, everything is evenly matched. The mistakes are just *usually* useless. I've always thought maybe 1% of them at random would be powerful.

now i do agree with your useless creatures. there is a need for not every creation to go right and a 'failed' alert isn't enough, we need an actual failure your stuck with. it's just that ever so often you make a mistake i like the design of. just personal gripes. but i love the idea of everything being valid ('cept mistakes) 'cause now it's about strategy and personal taste. not everyone training mewtwo's, charizards and other such boringly over powered nonsense.

That's the only thing I hate about pokemon, and I'm not even sure I'll get into the next generation of games. I'll love seeing any new ones they put out, but I can't compete against other players and to me that's the only real fun at all; getting through the in-game plot was always just an obstacle to set up my competitive ability.

And I've literally never one *once*

You might want to know Dunsparce is kicking ass and taking names in DP. Not top-tier material, but definitely holds his own. Actually, I don't remember a single instance where Dunsparce was completely trash, in GSC being Normal meant Rest/Sleep Talk/Curse/Normal STAB which meant awesome, in RS he gets more reliable paralysis and Serene Grace, in DS he gets Headbutt off his Serene Grace/reliable recovery in Roost back.

A better example would be Flareon or Banette.

To the true point though, Mortasheen could be quite awesome if a large group of players (or smart enough ones to know what truly needs to be changed) were to balance it. I don't like the idea of chance-based good mistakes though, it'd turn out to be akin to soft resetting for good one-off legends (Which can take days. ) in Pokemon.

I realize it'd just be one of those things that someone with enough persistence is inevitably going to get anyway, making it sort of a needless obstacle to regular people, but there's gotta be at least a few things that are a pain to get

God, you just keep cranking out the AWESOME.

Hallucigenia rules :3 I love how this is a Mistake monster as it's based on the old incorrect interpretation.

I was waiting for this so long. When you told me you have a hallucigenia-monster I wondered what it would look like. I think it's great!

The fanart-moster I created was also based on the "upside-down-hallucigenia". It was a zombie spawn with a row of spikes on it's back that inject hallucinogetic venom.

I fear I spelled this wrong.
