Description "Leaping Wormbrain"

CLASS: WORMBRAIN

One of the more common of the Eye-sac wormbrains, Paraseethe can move remarkably fast with their powerful, clawed forelimbs and even achieve an impressive leap with a flick of their muscular tails. Their blind, throbbing eyes, packed with infectious brain-worm eggs, emit a psychoactive pulse compelling other creatures to consume their contents. The Paraseethe itself feeds exclusively on carrion, including the remains of worm hosts who have ceased to be useful.

--------------

This is a somewhat arbitrary redesign, and I would actually consider the old version to still be a canon variant; I'm just expanding the Wormbrains a bit and wanted the old ones to match how I'm drawing the new additions, which will go up soon-ish! I wanted this guy to look a little more threatening, too.

Are these just morbid pokemon fused with the ideologies of John R. Dilworth?

That's quite the compliment. I won't disagree with that interpretation at all.

I think some of your creepymon would have been delightful in Courage the Cowardly Dog!

You might like this piece I did a few years ago: [link]
It's a mish-mash of all kinds of different things (cauldron, labrador, ribbons), but good ol' Leucochloridium paradoxum (mash-up with jester-type head-gear) was definitely in the mix.

This is even cooler than the original. Just curious, is there anywhere you'll keep the old art for archiving purposes? I'd hate to not see it again.

it's still up if you search the monster's name, which is what I usually do these days. It just says "old" in the title now

That's good to hear. I know there used to be some errors with the Mortasheen page that took you to a white directory with links instead of the actual Mortasheen page and it had the art and pages of all the old monsters plus all the old art, but I can't access it anymore. :/

that's not an error actually; all the mortasheen stuff is in a folder called /mortasheen/, so if you entered that instead of the actual webpage (mortasheen.html) it would just display the directory, which is the default for most websites unless either the directory is hidden or an "index" file is put in it, which becomes the webpage.

I gave it an index file that takes you to the monster directory only because some people said that was better to do in general, plus now I can upload stuff ahead of time without spoiling anyone

I actually like this one a lot more, it's got a mudskippery feel to it.
Mudskippers are always good.

I had a TREMENDOUS obsession with Mudskippers as a child, their existence simply blew my mind. It's still one of my favorite body shapes.

Nice creature design, i like how you tend to design beasties that are not conventionally pretty yet have more interest and character than other flaboyant entities swarming in this site. By the way, i dont know if i missed that in your description but is this guy based on that parasite that takes control of snails and makes their eyes pulse?

yes, Leucochloridium paradoxum. It's possibly my very favorite animal

I have an article about it on my site which also includes a big fan-art gallery people sent in!

Omgawsh I love this thing so much. I defiantly love how it reminds me kind of Leucochloridium paradoxum. I always adore your monster designs so much, they are so clever and creative. <3
