Description "Skulking Wormbrain"

CLASS: WORMBRAIN

Bred as a stealth sentry, this lopsided wormbrain hosts dozens of voracious sanguivorous roundworms, in turn controlled by tiny brain-flukes of their own. With many layers of chromatophores beneath its malleable skin, it can blend almost seamlessly with any terrain, even virtually shutting down its metabolic processes to better mask its presence as it slithers silently and swiftly on its muscular, sucker-like ventral side.

Unless specially instructed to infect a new host with brain-flukes, the Megrimora will allow its horde to drain their victim completely of vital fluids and scavenge the remains. Their size varies considerably, from smaller, stealthier assassins to barely-mobile behemoths laid as living security systems. Rarely, they may betray their position with a snort or snicker, eager to see their worms at work.

--------------

Will I ever get tired of tryophobic living parasite colonies? Well, if you follow my stuff, you probably are by now, but...there's still another one planned. I love surinam frogs far too much to keep them out of my designs for long.

If you want more useless trivia, I originally came up with this one while idly doodling personal fan concepts for Binding of Isaac monsters.

It does have only one leg, and if it has another arm, it's extremely tiny and withered somewhere underneath.

This guy sorta reminds me of the "Slouch" enemy in Parasite Eve 2. Guess there's only so many ways you can make a lopsided monster that crawls on its side

I was trying to "humanize" a Flatfish, though the result is also very similar to Nemo Ramjet's asymmetrical people in "All Tomorrows."

I loved the Slouches, though.

"fan concepts for Binding of Isaac monsters"?
I also had drawn some concepts of monsters for the Binding of Isaac. I had even wrote ten pages of idea of monster, boss (One was named Queen Taenia and was a tapeworm hydra.) object, ending and floor.
Then my PC crashed and I lost everything...
I would really like to see these drawing, hope you will post them.

Aside from the obvious flatfish inspiration at work here was a creature from All Tomorrows (I forget the name) involved as well? The base concept is similar enough to be coincidence but I was curious.

It actually started as a sketch of a perfectly bisected fetus-like monster crawling on its side. Then I thought flatfish features would be perfect and finally some surinam frog.

I'd almost forgotten the asymmetrical people, which is odd because they were one of my favorite things in the book. A bit of them surely crept in here.

You manage to pack a lot of subtle inspirations into your designs, and the parasites infested with parasites is a nice touch.

I should read All Tomorrows again, it's been a while...

in response to your commentary, frankly, I'm surprised you haven't done a surinam-frog-inspired creature yet.

Are you going to write an article about Binding of Isaac monsters at any point?

So it's host to blood-sucking aprasites that are themselves host to mind-controlling parasites? Go wormbrains, that's awesome!

It kinda made me think of a flatfish when I saw the face.
