but i realised that the Shark Week show was in Ontario and my BMEC kids are just down the road really so a local show to start Aether's career was just too perfect to pass up.

Equine Shark Week Event 2019 - RESULTS

THIRD PLACE!

Aether had traveled well and although she was rather excitable in the new location, the young mare was fairly unphased by the entire experience. The water dressage was something Carmen had never tried before and although she had made sure to give the young horse a lot of training in shallow water during the lead up to the show, but it was always a risk doing something new. Luckily Aether was just starting her career and so the pressure for the big results was low and Carmen could take the time to let her try new things and get used to her job.

That being said they were wearing BMEC colours and the trailer was very visible in the parking lot. Carmen had not officially represented her employers before while riding her mare, and so she was feeling a little nervous. It would have been simpler to just ride as a private entrant, but the recent change in her employment contract that had allowed her to stable her horse on the site meant that they now would be showing in the coveted white helmet. Luckily she was still only a small fry in the competition lineup so the entourage was small and she managed to avoid having the owners or a large group of other riders at the same event watching her. The thought of that alone was enough to make her stomach do flips.

The sun was starting to set when their names were called. Aether balked slightly when asked to step into such a large pool of water. The young mare snorted loudly and stink-eyed the large open space and the weird decorations before stepping hesitantly forward at Carmen's urging.
