When creating plating, I punched round "holes" in the polygons facing outwards with cylinder shape on a background layer using "solid drill" with "stencil" setting. That divided the polygon into multi-vertex "round" polygon & a concave polygon around it. The cylinder was aligned so it was perpendicular to the divided polygon.
When done all plates, I selected all of "round" polygons (I assigned temporary material to them, so it was done in two clicks) & beveled them all at once using polygon bevel.
Names of the tools may be different in your software.
That might be not the best solution 'cause it makes pretty difficult to texture usig UV maps, but since I use procedural texturing, that's not a very big issue for me.
