So... why the birds?
Your iconography is very specific and I'm interested in learning more about the symbology.

The bird thing began when I went back to finish college. There was a project of 50 drawings of one subject and I picked crows. The crows spilled over into other disciplines and expanded more as I did research on birds. Here are some clues into some of the symbolism throughout my work:
Birds: transcendence; the soul; divine manifestation; spirits of the dead; ascent to heaven; ability to communicate with the gods or enter into a higher state of consciousness; thought; imagination...
Brown: the earth;
Red: fire; the sun; energy; health; strength; also blood;faith..
Blood: the life principle; the soul; strength; the rejuvenating force...
these are simply general meanings of the symbols. There are also secret meanings which will not be revealed.

I love the foglike background around the bird, as well as the single, almost piercing eye of the bird.
