In my interpretation, Wargs are for some reason ale to understand languages spoken by their riders. Like the Mubari warhounds from Dragon Age in which they were bred by a mage to understand speech and carry out complex commands. Thus for wargs to have a degree of such intelligence in the LOTR universe, makes sense in that the wargs in JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and the LOTR series, orcs often rode wargs into battle with reins or bridles. Not to mention these over-sized wolves allowed themselves to be ridden, thus there should be a deep connection and trust between the rider and the warg.

I would like to see you draw something like this. I think that it is a good idea for you to draw and write about cultural exchanges between such diverse cultures. It speaks well of you. Particularly in light of something like Lord of the Rings, in which all orcs in the series are considered to be a part of the legion of evil. Your work is a like a breath of fresh air, along with the Orc series, in which the author uses them as the ultimate Anti-Heroes in the face of universal prejudice against them. So for you to write about beings, who cross the line is unique and interesting, since this is something that is not explored in fantasy works.
As for the picture above. It would take me time to write a story, but here is my first attempt.
A young elf stops her warg, looking about to see if she was alone. Being elven has it's elven which gives far better eye sight than any mere mortal possesses. Off in the distance, she sees a campfire, most likely it belonged to her pursuers. Its light giving away their position so easily in the twilight. She pets her warg bending down to whisper in its ear.
"Let's keep going Hawk. Not much further I promise." The young elf ran her fingers through Hawk's thick fur, the warg obeyed and began to trot. The elf gently kicked prompting her mount to ride at a full gallop. The elf prided herself as a good rider with the fastest warg in the steps of Antor, knowing full well that being elven made her lighter than most. Even when she ran through a city, in which the stone masons are placing cobblestones on the streets, she would run through the fine sand without disturbing it. She smiled with delight as the wind flowing through her hair. The night air was truly refreshing during the summer. They rode for another until they came upon a river.
"Keep going," commanded the elf and they leapt into the cold river, fording across, the elf woman hugging her warg's neck so that she would not be swept away the current. Hawk shook himself in an attempt to dry himself, ignoring the fact that his rider was still on top of him. The elf woman laughed in delight. Happy that her warg enjoyed the water so much. They continued to ride for some time, until it was too dark to see.
"I think that this is far enough Hawk," the elf woman said tugging the warg's thick fur towards her, prompting it to stop. The elf woman slid off and walked a considerable distance, and unsheathed a hunting knife that she bought from an elven merchant in town. She plunged the blade into the ground, closed her eyes and listening to what mother earth had to tell her. She heard nothing. Peering at the dark expanse before she saw the river glistened from afar. The water reflecting the starry night sky.
She turned and smiled at Hawk who sat and wagged its tail as it watched her with anticipation.
"It's all right. They're not following us. Though we should leave at dawn and head for home through the forest just in case."
Hawk hung its head not looking forward to the idea of waking up so early in the morning. She walked over and hugged Hawk.
"Tell you what, when we get home I'll give you some horse meat, how's that?"
Hawk wagged his tail quickly and liked the elf woman to show his appreciation.
"Stop it, that tickles." She took out her pouch full of her goods that she had taken before escaping her captors. She made a small fire, rubbing her chest to warm her core and stretched out her hands to warm them. Hawk gave a short bark, looking disapproving at the small fire.
"Sorry, Hawk. But we can't take any chances. Otherwise it'll give us away, why do you think we have our backs towards the way we came?"
Hawk looked at the elf woman with its huge puppy dog eyes, but her face was like steel. The warg snorted as it relented and rested its head on her knee allowing her to pet him. She leaned back and wrapped a blanket of fur over her, letting exhaustion to finally overtake her. Tomorrow was going to be another long day.

Generally, this picture struck me as very lyrical and kind. I always thought, man, that your soul is a whole sea of tenderness and kindness
And, in addition, the figure is rich with plot possibilities. It is obvious that the elves had to endure severe trials and life's woes, but the heart of an elf remained responsive. This elf is able to attract and win over other creatures. Of course, terrible, the orcs and dwarves selfish - not the substance, whose love can be easily achieved (although Fluffy proved otherwise!), But the sweet Varg, which warms the elf - a big victory for the lonely wanderer-elf.
I think that Varg is even more reasonable. than commonly believed - could it be? Or is it a new breed that appeared in this wonderful world? Even a talking kind of ...? I would not exclude such a possibility. Vocabulary of at least 20-30 words can be useful - even in a sense, to earn money.
And witchcraft. Does the concept of the world to the werewolves, for instance? In Russia there is a popular fairy tale about Prince Ivan and Grey Wolf, in which the speaker Grey Wolf helps prince and, in some versions, finishing the quest is regaining human form.
Probably a lot depends on how those or other creatures would react to this pair, when met her.
Elf must wade to their relatives. If its way is through inhabited areas, it is necessary to choose the route, which is the least dangerous.

Quiebrahuesos and Fluffy doing the "Fusion" from Dragonball Z!
The warg is going to look nonthreatening--because its mane of hair has been braided! It is a pretty small warg too? A runt of a litter, or a half-tamed wild warg that was never bred to be large?
She is an escaped slave from someone. She may have escaped from orcs, but has nowhere to go as all her village was killed or captured by orcs? She has decent survival skills so she can live off the land. Perhaps she took care of the warg in the orc village as it was considered too small to be of use except as a pet? It's size being a "throw-back" to the smaller wild size?
She might be keeping the fire low as she wants to avoid detection? She may be shadowing an orc village to scout it out for slaves she knows? Or she could be a scout for the Orc Killers?
