Recently my siblings (EmeyTroi and L.Trigger) have been introducing me to their favorite genres of music. From Emey I've learned to enjoy Blackmore's Night, and from Trigger Skillet and a few others.

All in all, both have good taste. Just like any other type of music, however, too much of a good thing can grow cold fast. But there are certain songs which I seemingly can't get enough of. One of them is Blackmore's Night's "Lorelay." The other is Skillet's "The Last Night."

It's the latter that this is based off of.

This image was born fully-formed, like Athena, while listening to "The Last Night." I knew what pose was needed, the expressions on their faces, and even the color choices I was going to use. Although I'm not sure if I remained completely true to the idea, inspiration had struck, and I wouldn't be able to get the image out of my head until I had created it.

So. Here is my version of "The Last Night." A different, and perhaps more solemn, spin on Synlet. No less chaotic, sarcastic, or wry. But a little more...solemn.
