Feelings grew between the two, and they eventually decided to spend the rest of their lives together, setting off on scholastic pursuits across the Kingdom for years, before settling down in Miras. There they welcomed the birth of their baby daughter, and throughout Pyrene's childhood, her Delvan father gently instilled faith in Aurea within her while educating her in Common and Altan while her exuberant mother exposed Pyrene to various intellectual hobbies, hoping for Pyrene to pick up on them as she grew. As a child, she knew that her mother loved what she did, and endeavored in her studies under her father, hoping to reach their level of knowledge and passion someday.

{E}ventually, her mother's slow decline in health took the turn for the worst, her body having accumulated physical trauma from the side-effects of her failed experiments and going through childbirth at a late age. Grief did not take hold of Pyrene for long when her mother departed, for she believed that Aurea would've led her mother to a better place. However another source of sadness soon came up, as her father, having used up almost all their savings in a desperate effort to save her mother, left for his homeland after arranging for an old friend to take care of her. The letter that arrived at her new home in Cantor a few days later detailed his regrets at having left her, but the grief at seeing how much she resembled her mother, and the fact that she was no longer around crushed him. He needed time to heal, and would try to find consolation with his family in Delverne, and promised to keep in contact through letters.

{T}hough she got along well with her adoptive father, she had a difficult time adjusting to her new life, often holing herself up at home whilst poring over the journals left behind by her mother. A broom caught on fire one day, and after some panic, the flames were put out and Pyrene was sat down to have a talk. Apparently she had cast a spell without full knowledge of the consequences, through the writings that she had been studying. Although very much protective of her, he wanted to give her freedom in her developing years, and made her promise to not practice magic unless supervised.

{T}o celebrate her eighth birthday, Pyrene was brought to a petting zoo amidst spring festival celebrations, and a particularly plucky goat decided to harass her, causing her to set fire to the gate in panic. It was there that she met kind Gustave who helped to make sure she was safe, and the firm Veura who calmed the goat down. Although the three of them formed a fast friendship with each other which they maintained for three years, circumstances led to them being separated.

{P}yrene would then get further into her mother's writings, attempting experiments that usually ended with explosions in the backyard. Once, she decided to explore the fringes of the mysterious Leywood to see what it was like, as her mother's journals described the wonders of the flora and fauna within. A decision she would regret however, as an encounter with a wild beast got part of her ear bitten off, and her magic attack of self-defense missed and set some of the surroundings on fire. Thanks to the intervention of passing adventurers, the flames did not spread too far, but the guilt from having caused such harm to the forest led her to give up practicing magic, and she then sought to train as a healer.

{A}s Pyrene did not have any affinity with healing magic, the learning process was difficult for both teacher and student, the former not comprehending her stubbornness in attempting to learn something she is not cut out for. Still, Pyrene gave her best to learn what she could over the years, eventually picking up a patchy mixture of medical knowledge and herbalism skills. She put her skills into practice where she could in recent years, such as helping out when the Valski refugees were relocated to Cantor and the aftermath of the religious war with Delverne. Despite being happy that she could help even with her amateurish knowledge, she felt that being a healer wasn't something she was capable of fully becoming, with or without healing magic. She thought back onto her childhood ideals of wanting to be closer to the level her parents were in life, and considered returning to magic studies.

A trip to the town market in search of fire resistant artifacts found her in the path of a stampede which she’d hear later was caused by would-be animal thieves. After the injuries were healed and they were caught up with each other, it was proposed that the three of them should form a travelling team.

{I}t was her chance to venture further beyond the trips to Miras, and she could finally go on adventures like her parents used to. She wanted to see her mother's hometown, and although it would be hard to do so, perhaps visit Delverne to see if her real father is safe. Not letting that stop any festive cheer however, they would make do and enjoy whatever adventures they can. Upon having heard news of Princess Marise going around making bracelets, the friends would head over and participate in the activity, with Pie attempting to exchange one with Marise. Her father in Cantor, knowing of her interest in botany, decides to send her a seed from one of the new species of plants popping up around the region, wishing for her safety on her travels. Since their location makes the trip easy, the friends would decide to head towards Song-Lu to get their fortunes told for the year and participate in the festivities. Then when the Day of Prayer came, Pyrene would make her wishes to the deities Aurea and Therras, hoping for a blessed coming year.
