Description OMG

OMG
GUYS
THIS MARBLE
IS AMAZING

This is Jango. The askgaskdgflsdj sized fox. He's longer than any of my previous pelts, measuring a whopping 61 inches. Claude is the fox next to him and was my largest fox until Jango arrived :3! I'm purchasing him from =HeartbreakFox after she shoved his amazingness in my face this week. He's so big and soft and fluffy and I'm gonna go fangirl in the corner right now !

He's confirmed mountable, and I'm hoping to ship him out to Animal City Studios for the mounting ! When I have the money of course

I'll take some better pictures outside this weekend ! He's got some beautiful markings. I'm extremely excited about this guy. I never thought I would find a mountable marble for such a great deal! Just gah, =HeartbreakFox ! Ahwoowoo!

Animal City Studios works with garment tans and makes them look very professional. It'll cost extra to fix up, but I'm all for paying for the job. He's a beautiful fox, and I'd love to give him a chance at becoming a gorgeous mount.

I'm not getting him mounted anytime soon so the only pictures I'll have will be of the pelt for a while lol.

And that is the perk of a ranch fox. My marble Pandora is around the same size and my silver Hex is as long as I am tall pretty much (and I am 5'3" lmao)

I've had wild foxes and just are dwarfed by my ranches. My old whitemark was I think 62" and my wild red was a puny 32"

Amazing how human selection is. I have heard of monster Golden Islands and it blows my mind

I know right? I was quite shocked at how large the ranched animals can get. I have one silver I'm positive was a ranched fox, and he's tiny! No more than 36 inches for sure. But Jango outshines everyone as far as length. It is really cool how selective breeding does so much to these animals. It's one thing to see the fur mutations, but another to see how their dispositions and sizes differ from the wild foxes. I'm very happy to have Jango now since I can take him to some lectures on the subject. Evolution theory ftw !

I love seeing pictures of the live ranched animals because they look so big and fluffy. I'd love to get a pet from a breeder eventually.

What do ya do with them? Are they killed or found dead? Do you wear them as scarves or use them as references for art or...? Nice furs either way

ShroudofShadows In reply to a-small-piece-of-ham [2012-11-14 23:59:19 +0000 UTC]

1. I purchase them for art reference, to further my knowledge on the natural world and to take them to presentations about animals.
2. A little bit of both. Some were found dead or put down. Others, like this marble, were in fur farms.
3. I could never wear any of these guys XD! Art reference is the main usage for these pelts.

and Thank you :3

Just going to insert my little two cents worth:

While wolves, foxes, and many other animals are beautiful and may have a special place in many people's hearts, they still serve a purpose that dates back centuries ago. I'm pretty sure if you were a nomad or Native America who needed food, shelter, or clothing, you'd use whatever means available so long as you didn't upset the spirits by disrespecting the animal or its remains--but like Shroud said, she didn't kill them (and she usually tries to get ones that died of NATURAL causes or accidents in the first place...I know for a fact she does not condone the slaughter of animals just for fun or what have you)

As far as being defenseless goes, we only have the upper hand because of modernized weapons and the like. I honestly don't think many of us would fare very well should we encounter an angry version of one of these magnificent creatures in the wild--they're faster (can run away much faster than we can), a bit stronger, and have their own built-in weapons (claws, teeth, etc).

I don't mean to appear rude, so forgive me if it comes across that way. I merely meant to offer yet another side to the 'argument'.

I hate people who don't know the first thing about animal fur, but assume that I personally killed these animals. When I received them they were already dead. Get over yourself, and please learn how to spell fur :/.

White foxes are very pretty! I hope to have one as a pet one day.
I mostly order them off eBay, but this one I'm purchasing from a friend

^^ Fox's make great pets! How much do they go for on ebay? maybe i can save up the money. All i have is a fox tail. XD

I've heard! I keep watching youtube videos of people's pet foxes and they look so cute x3!

Prices vary on ebay. You can get them as cheap as $30 for an older pelt, if not cheaper, or very expensive. Average price for a decent pelt seems to be $60-$100 if you just want a nice looking wall hanger. Taxidermy quality pelts are more expensive.
