Description Another corset making tutorial.

A double-busk (also called a backing bone) is quite simply an extra 1/2" or wider spring steel flat, placed directly behind the busk opening. It serves not only to visually prevent undergarments or skin from peeking through the busk, but greatly strengthens the busk and helps to prevent the busk from popping open if the wearer is physically active, particularly with curvier figures.

Great tutorials. Wish I'd had this one when I was working on my easy-open front closure. My adding a support busk behind didn't go nearly so neatly.

That is such a grand idea! I was thinking about this the other day, how to do something similar, but never thought to use a piece of boning to support it! (I was curious about the stability of doing it, and just interfacing it more heavily than normal...)

Thank you very much for creating this tutorial!

Very informative, thank you. It's a different way to add such a panel than I've seen before.

I don't have a clue about corsets (other than they're pretty and I want one someday!) but from a technical standpoint I absolutely love how detailed your tutorials are, both with words and pictures. Even with as little as I know, I can still follow it and see that you haven't left anything out or assumed anything other than the basics of sewing.
